What did you do to your bike today?

It's a crack on the plastic on top thats causing the leak so needs attention from inside to stop it. The insides are a bit messed up anyway from water spots etc so they need a full clean which i cannot do unless the lenses are off. If I mess it up then its no great loss as the replacements were only £100 for the entire assembly.

Oh and cleaned the rear brake and regreased the sliding bits. The entire rear ens was covered in a fine film of crud so thats been taken care of :)

Just need some good weather to ride the damn thing.

Gave the AT a quick bath to get the dust off today...

I don't get the chance to ride it these days but even just washing it and having a quick ride today it's such a nice machine, don't know if I can come to sell it... :(

Agree the date of 27th May to put my bike into W.M. Snells to get it opened up and looked at, all paid for by Ducati. If they find it's a faulty gear, I will be in the clear. If they think I've been riding it like a hoon and tracking it (which I haven't) then they will charge me to put the bike back together and fix it...

Really hope it's not bad in the engine.

Does tracking a Ducati void its warranty? Sounds like a pretty worthless warranty if so.

I thought you'd bought a Blackbird - did you change back again?

Looking great there Fireskull. Nice to see it in one piece again

@Fireskull - WOW, youv'e turned that around in super quick time, nice work man (and a lot of hours I expect). Jesus, the rear of that thing looks like the Alien Queens Head... loving it lol

Looking good :)

What dates/tracks you got booked??

GSX-R Stealth Edition

Thanks for the comments all :)

Had a great day at brands yesterday, really made all the hard work worthwhile!
The first session was horrendous, first time back on a bike since the accident and first track day in probably a year, wasn't sure if the bike was going to fall apart or not :p

Second session feeling a bit better, in myself mainly, bike still feeling strange, which I guess is expected as so much has changed on it.
Afterwards changed tyre pressures again, figured out why steering felt weird, steering damper was on loosest setting...

The other sessions just got better and faster, starting to get used to it all again, I had forgotten how strenuous it is going all out, was just trying to remember to keep relaxed etc, my hands were numb :p

Really disappointed with MSV as a track organiser though, they had obviously overbooked so they created two inters groups, which was silly really as my group wasn't busy and neither was the fast group, they could have easily ran 3 groups, but also they were running some rider skills taster sessions and some track time for Kent fire services or something like that, so track sessions weren't as much as I was expecting, I don't think I will do a full day with them again.

Also the services they had were appalling, no dedicated tyre guy, they only had a race spares guy who could supply and fit tyres, and the biggest annoyance for me was no suspension guy either :( which meant my nice new Ohlins was left to its own devices, I had a play with preload and it wasn't far off ok but some chatter, tyre didn't get any horrendous tearing either, only later in the day wear went off a bit but I think that was more pressure related as it did get quite hot in the afternoon when the sun came out.

unKle my next booked TD is a brands evening, I think either 30th june or 1st july, need to check... got nothing else booked yet.

There is a slight scuff on the back but I didn't hit the deck with my head, think its just from laying there, I forgot to take my new one with me!

New rear indicator finally arrived from Kawasaki. 2 weeks to delivery a box thats 2 x 2 x 2 inches. Fitted that and changed the brake fluid to some nice new Dot 5.1. The old stuff was mankey.

If I'd known I'd have popped along and said hi, am only half hour from Brands. :)

How did you find the SportSmarts on track? I put them on my CBR6 track bike and was well impressed, didn't push too hard with them as it was a Sunny 3c-10c at Snet back in March, plus I'd not ridden the bike before. So was taking it v easy.

Who is the evening one with? Focused Events or No Limits?

Evening is with MSV again, I got a TD voucher as a gift from my old employment so used it up with a full day and evening at brands :p

I found them ok, nothing special, they gripped, they heated up well, I found on fast banked over corners that they drifted me wide though, but could be a combination of suspension also, I just didnt feel any feedback, I am normally used to running stuff like supercosa's and Power One's so in comparison.
They didn't launch me of the bike so I cant complain :D

Filled up the varadero today, after a couple of days at work and the weekends run out I was sitting at 240 miles on the current tank. Thought I could feel it starting to stutter a little so presumed I must be getting close to the reserve (15l tank + 2.7l reserve (17.7l total) on the varadero) - filled up and could just squeeze 12.5 litres in!! Was expecting my mpg to be well down as I did loads of 60mph+ riding on Monday but instead of 80mpg I got nearly 90mpg :o:D

I'm still amazed at the mpg it's getting, I'd expect it from one of the little single cylinder 125's, but the varadero weighs 150kg and has a v-twin! Should be able to get over 300 miles from a full tank at just 80mpg :D

Fireskull - looks great, will look even better when you've finished the fairings :)
