Swapped it for a new one!

Just put a deposit down on an '08 GSX650F K8 to replace my R125 after completing a mini DAS. Big thanks to Rossi~ for the advice!

Apologies for the crappy phone pics, felt a bit of a knob stood there taking snaps and the bike trader listing had been pulled by the time i got home.

What's the best way of telling an insurance company about adding an aftermarket slip-on exhaust? Best to do it before I buy the policy, after or not at all... Won't be going for a anything too flash, just something to boost the noise and replace the original monstrosity.

Ask them to re-run a quote with an slip-on exhaust to see the price difference as you're thinking of getting one if the insurance price doesn't change significantly. My insurance went up about £30 but I have several mods.

Always best to get it sorted before you start the policy, as any changes whilst on the policy you will have to pay for.

Nice one :)

The original monstrosity is hilarious, weighs a tonne, you'll find out when you remove it :D

I went for this: http://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.u...X650F_200813--product--8377.html#.U2yUTtq9KK0
Sounds nice, looks nice and it's baffle is easy.

Think I'm gonna go for a Blue Flame exhaust based on cost. Thinking stainless with a carbon tip but all depends on the insurance.
That Mivv is cheaper than I expected though!

EDIT: The more I look at that Mivv, the more I want it. :(

its 1.1 better than 4!

Was the same price and reading up on it it's totally compatible so thought why not!

It needs changed more often I thought tho?

I know the boiling temp is higher out of the box but if you use racing dot4 then it's even higher.

Not having a go, just curious!

DOT 5 that is the case as its silicone based and isnt hydroscopic so the water sits in the calipers. 5.1 is just a higher rated 4 so is fine to use on most braking systems.

Fitted my new non leaky headlishts and some pillion pegs. Now to ride the darn thing!

There's a picture in your thread of it and I'll try and get a half decent sound clip of it but it's very windy at the moment.

it should tell you dot 5.1 only on the master cylinder cap, pretty sure mine does

Edit: dot 4 only it says

The vast majority of bikes specify DOT 4, though DOT 5.1 will work perfectly well. The primary difference is DOT 5.1 was developed for ABS systems and has a lower viscosity so it can move through the narrow bore pipes more quickly.
