What did you do to your bike today?

what bike is it skyripper? i went through same thing with my zx10,turned out to be bad battery in the end,yet the old one was charging up fine ect

Yr 2000 Ducati 996. Has had new battery, new regulator and replacement wiring from alternator thru to reg and from reg thru to battery. Its almost 100% the alternator after measuring the voltages coming out of the alternator across the three-phase wiring.

I went with kreem stuff in the end. Kits arrived and just realize it doesn't contain the degreaser. Back to the internets. Maybe tomorrow. Time is getting short to get it out back to gather and mot'd takes about two days to fix the tank and I would have liked to get it mot'd sat at the latest. Will be touch and go.

Alright mate, was just wondering how well that stuff worked?

Got a few small leaks in the lower right hand side of my FZRs tank and was going to weld or solder it but if this stuff worked for you it might be a better option.

Rode the thing, got the weather and had a great set of races.

Cleaned up the exhaust pipe today (using kurust), was planning to get some other parts tidied up and painted but one of the nuts just wouldn't budge. Anyone got a tip on how to loosen it? It looks to be slightly rusted.

For my bike yesterday and today I have been trying to sell it....

Going from an 2006 bandit 650 with 2400 miles to a 2000 C4 ZRX 1100 :D

Well that is providing I can sell the bandit asap. I could buy the ZRX and sort my insurance but it means holding onto a bike with no insurance which I am not willing to do.

Do insurance companies offer 1 or 2 month cover?

Oil change and installed some R&G exhaust protectors. They look much better than the yellow hoses I was using before.

Fitted a 7602 racing oil drain bolt kit. I used to have to use 2 different allen key sizes and undo 2 8mm bolts. Now everything is a 14mm socket and as I change the oil after each meeting, makes it a doddle.

VoG.... you evil git!

If I want this ZRX I have to sell my Bandit 650 but then again there is a VFR W reg (2000) in the anniversary colours with 23.5k miles.....

Grr this biking malarky is killing me!

So I can get the ZRX 1100 2000 year with about 11-12k miles for £2k but need to sell my bike private....

Or a 2000 plate Yamaha XJR 1300 in red SP with 21k miles and can trade in...

Or a 2000 plate VFR 800Fi with 23.5k miles and can trade in.....

Just need to check the insurance on a VFR but the ZRX is good and so is the XJR....

VoG! Get typing dear sir!:D

Ps i-bert... nice SM!

VoG! Get typing dear sir!:D

Well the ZRX11 is faster than the XJR13, lighter than the XJR13, handles much much better than the XJR13, stops better than the XJR13, & is a lot more manageble than the XJR13.

In fact, the only place the XJR13 exceeds the ZRX11 is in the comfort stakes, & thats not because the ZRX11 is uncomfortable, it's not, it's just not quite as comfortable as the XJR13.

So the ZRX11, kinda makes the XJR13 feel like a big old comfy barge on wheels, which oddly enough, it is. ;)

Oh I am in for a real treat Saturday then....

ZRX 1100 11k miles, red, naked conversion (want the bikini fairing though) remus revolution end can, renthal bars, levers, K&N filters...

Just hope it is in as good condition as I have been told. Seller is a friend from one of the lads at work who I go riding with every now and then.
Insurance will be £650 TpFT with breakdown cover +hire and hotel, Motor Legal protection, personal accident cover. The guy doing my quote said the 650 Bandit is rated at 17 and the ZRX 1100 is 28 which seems pretty good:)

It might not be a conversion, the rex11 came in 2 flavours, faired & naked, tho the naked version wasn't popular & are hard to come by as a consequence, so, i'll be the money obsessed scrote ( ooooh, deja vu :D ) again & ask how much?.

The price......

£2000.00

It has 8k+ less miles then the other bikes I looked at and is £700+ cheaper. It was advertised at a higher price but now he needs to shift it to sort his wife's car out. As said the seller is a friend of a work mate I go riding with but im not buying if I'm not happy.

Oh and it was converted from faired to naked so it may cost a lot to get the fairing back on.

Grrr you have done it again VoG!

It is bloody amazing! but I have no way of getting there to even view it as it is up to a 3 hour drive and I do not have a car licence or anyone who can drive me and the one I am viewing on Saturday is close:(

I have been looking on auction sites for zrx nose fairings but cannot find any. Only found an after market look a like from Poland or USA and they are over £100 before shipping etc.

Sounds silly alswell but I Kind of want to be able to put a nose fairing back on my self so I can learn about mods etc. I am thinking maybe the UK ZRX or Kawasaki forums may have the bits I need? Chance luck and all.

Actually one of the guys from the ZRXOC just broke his last week, so you've just literally missed out on all the gubbins you would've needed to fit a fairing, they don't tend to pop up that often as there usually sought after.

Argh! VoG you are killing me here! :D

Well today I got the Autosol out on the downpipes and they are like a mirror, tomorrow its going over the bike getting every bit of dirt off ready for the garage that might buy it. Just hoping the Rex is good'un and the garage give me the money I want. If not then I will just have to bide my time until the Bandit is gone and another Rex turns up.

Oh anyone near Linconshire fancy viewing a Rex for me if I sell my Bandit? lol :p
