What did you do to your bike today?

You know what Guys reading the above posts makes me wonder why we haven't sorted out a DIY type Help system where we can get together to do jobs on our bikes. The MX5 group I hung with used to meet up & all get stuck into whatever jobs folk needed. All we would need is somewhere to do it, Someone with a double garage a big drive & neighbours that won't freak out at the sight of 5+ bikes.
Like a lot of folk on here there's not many jobs I won't tackle myself & I'll even have a go at the bigger jobs if I know there's somebody about to refer to.

As far as What am I doing today I'm going to spend the whole day messing about with my bike as all I've been doing lately is riding it to do stuff/chores etc No cleaning or Joy rides so today is Joy ride day & uber clean day.

I'm also going to start a thread on an idea for a Meet so pop in & let me know what you think, Cheers. :)

That sounds like a great idea. I'd love to see things worked on just to see what people are doing etc

Put my Optimate charger adaptor in, so now I have a socket on my bike I can use to charge, or even use it as a USB port with the Optimate USB thingy :D

Battery so easy to get to on Speed Triple. Take the front tank cover thing off (3 screws) and it's there.

Also tried to put my Kriega US-10 straps on so I could tuck them away when it's not in use, but couldn't figure out a good way to do it. I don't want to use the thing every day, or have straps sticking out the side of my bike... might have wasted money on the tail pack :(. It's usable without my cowl, but I don't want to take my cowl off permanently. Oh well, it'll be alright for longer trips & my Scotland trip this year I guess.

Washed my bike while in work, and went out after work with some work mates to the Raven down the A49. All the bikers meet on a Thursday, and it was EPIC. It was a brillant ride!

Ordered brake pads & a service kit for the B12 ( oil, filter, plugs ) as it could do with some much needed tlc before summer.

Suspicion a blown exhaust was causing the rattle. I took off the exhausts the rattle was still there. Just turned out the be the rear light missing a bolt. 3k must have been the sweet spot for resonance. Fitted a new bolt with some loctite and took it out for a spin. It's sounds like a wild beast without the exhausts on, growling and then popping and banging like nobodies business when off the throttle. Flames coming out the back too in the dusk! Awesome.

One exhaust is blown to hell though, I'll get a picture up tomorrow, it's quite funny really.

Now I just need to have a look at whether I'm leaking oil into one of my cylinders, the bad exhaust has also been a bit smokey.

It's running really great though, plenty of punch!

The underside of these pipes have certainly seen better days.

Yes, the black bits are holes :p

Looks nice,

Had a bit of a chase with an mt 07? I think its called, his pipe was noisy as hell, idk how they tolerate it,my art pipe is loud but this was too much

Changed out the clutch cable on the SV. So much crap around the front sprocket. Clean the bulk of it away without leaving anything dry. Managed to leave the plastic clover on the old cable though....

Think I'm due a new front, may have to pick up a set of the Angel GT's and save the rear pilot 4 for when winter comes back around.

To many roundabouts/right turns on that front tyre
