What did you do to your bike today?

Anyone doing an oil change soon, just stumbled across this in asda. Just need to buy a filter now and I'm ready for a 4000 mile oil change.

Bargain, might shoot down and stock up this afternoon.

All I've been doing is cleaning, polishing & touching up the frames paintwork, each time getting closer to how good I think I can get it. Also been around the nuts & bolts checking for owt loose. I'm enjoying having a bike I can tinker with again. :)

Met a friend who hasn't ridden for a couple of years down at the Ducati dealership and got him an hours test ride on a Monster 821, had great fun riding around together :D

He took this picture when we pulled over, I would have moved my bike closer had I known!

I also gave in and bought the Ducati Performance levers, machined aluminium with better adjustment steps than stock to get the gap just right.

I don't know if the bearing or lever action is different but they feel very nice compared to stock, although that could just be placebo effect / they cost a **** load so must be better!

Just had a new rear angel St fitted, managed around 4k miles on the old one and that was part worn when I bought it

And congrats tom,how does the sv compare?

Bet that SV feels like a rocket ship compared to the 125, I remember that feeling well! Enjoy that feeling, keep it as long as you can!

I passed my Mod 2 so I've been riding my SV while my YBR cries in the shed! :D :D :D

Many many congratulations!! I remember the feeling of sitting down at the end waiting for an eternity for the very placid 'we'll you passed' and then that feeling afterwards, I hope it never leaves you :)

Started to take it apart this evening (excuse the crappy phone pictures). Going to see someone this weekend that is breaking a rolling chassis where I can hopefully pick up most of what I need. Front forks with K-tech internals, top and bottom yoke, front wheel, front mud guard, fairing stay bracket and sub frame is the shopping list at present. Will also need to pick up a new MC (the lines got ripped off and the bolt is bent in the bottom), new lines and new discs. Sending the quickshifter back to HM as the screen took a hit and no longer works plus I had a quote of £150 to remove the dents from the tank. Going to be an expensive fix this one!

Nice, you don't have to change gears as often as you would on the 125. I'm jelly, I still have to wait before I can do my A2... :(

Most of the time yeah, if there's a considerable saving then I don't mind waiting a few days extra when ordering from overseas. :)

I'm seriously considering buying from my local shop, I received a 10% discount from my instructor. Jacket is like 10-12 quid more but I still have to wait 5-10 days as they don't have my size in stock and gloves are only 6 quid more. The boots are different than the ones I was originally going to buy and trousers are 80 quid instead of 54. I'll probably order the trousers from motocard to give them a try, going tomorrow for final measurement and will definitely pick up the gloves as my hands are freezing on longer rides...

The only clothing I haven't bought from my local shop (or chain, 3 all part of the same group) was my held gloves because they don't stock them. Oh and a visor or 2. So that's: helmet, boots, jacket x2, textile trousers, kevlar jeans, gloves, kriega rucksack.

Why? because I can get between 5-10% off just by asking, and with that they're cheaper than online stores. And I can try stuff on, or do warranty stuff in person (like my A* boots which needed a fixing repairing, they gave me a pair of loaner boots for the week they were sent away). I got 10% off initially as I did my CBT with them, but when buying stuff I just ask what price can they do, they look at what I've bought and without fail knock some money off.

Unless you order from the EU (which is a lot of hassle even though it's cheaper) it's good to get to know your local shop.
