What did you do to your bike today?

Raining all day here apparently so it looks like I'm going to get wet again & there'll be no chance of me doing owt to the bike either.
If I'm honest I'm a bit disappointed with what I did yesterday as I was far to cautious & didn't go anywhere near what I intended to do. I wanted to start with the light & indicators so that I knew I could keep the bike road legal So swapped out the bits leaving the option of switching straight back if something didn't work. This has lead me to doing the job without chopping my guards down first. I think this was a mistake & a waste of my time I should have just cut it all down then fitted the light reg plate & indicators where they will be & stay. Oh well, Live & learn.

I rode an ER6N on my DAS and it was an ok bike, but nothing special. I think they're improved it now a little, but stuff like the analogue speedo and digital rev counter just made me wonder what they were thinking. It was hella vibey too.

That GSXR is nice, but not 'beautiful' - in my opinion anyway, we're all different. That 899 panigale however... sex on wheels.

Give me a big throbbing italian v-twin draped in carbon, ohlins and forged wheels with a topping of brembo stuff.... now you're taking! :D

Shame they sound poopy. :p

I was coming out of Brum through one of the tunnels this morning, gave the throttle a nice big good morning twist and grinned like a twit under my lid :D

The exhaust note on ducatis is awesome, but close up the engine tickover sounds like a bag of nails

Folks always turn heads with my end can,and that's only a run of the mill il4

Mate had a dry clutch on his Duke, It was thump thump when moving & rattle rattle when stationary at lights, Sounded like a right bag of bolts. :p

Just had the call back from my insurance & they've Ok'd All my Mods & there's no extra cost. Shame it's ******* down or I'd be out Chopping bits off.

Husqvarna Nuda 900R Akrapovic or BMW HP4 with Austin GP. I saw RJ once in London, but as soon as I got my phone out he went out of my sight.

Nuda is loud AF, love the sound though. :) But I do agree about the RSV4, it sounds like a Moto GP bike :D

Best sounding is the RSV4/Tuono V4, closely followed by a Ducati V-twin (although I do agree the older ones with dry clutches are rattly when the clutch is pulled in, but they're not like that any more, wet clutches all round I think). Aprillia V-Twin next, then a Cross-plane crank R1, parralell twin like the MT07 and at the bottom of the bunch (just about a single cylinder) is the IL4.

Of course there are exceptions, my CB400 IL4 sounds great when the vtec kicks in, and the Nuda 900 parallel twin sounds like nothing else. And the S1000R with it's pops on every lift off does sound good too.

But nothing beats an Aprilia V4 with an Austin Racing GP2R can. Closly followed by a big Ducati v-twin, with wet clutch and a full termi system. Both are loud enough to raise the dead and sound epic.

MT07 low rpm engine sound, I'll look for a video of stuner 13 doing a really slow standstill burnout, you can really hear that engine on that clip.

Edit:

Found it! https://www.facebook.com/stunter13dotcom/videos/vb.143034529077468/741257672588481

Some 60' era triumph twins sound pretty fantastic

Oh yes, I love old 2 stroke bikes. That sound is not comparable to any modern bike, or high revving 4 cylinder 250's sound mean. :D

BTW How tall are you guys on sports bikes? I'm 6ft1 and thinking if I'll look comical on something like the GSXR 600 K8... They are quite small in-comparison to other bikes.
