What did you do to your bike today?

I done Brighton and back on mine the other weekend which ended up around 450 miles all together and once you get tucked down behind the screen all wind blast disappears, the motorway munching would have been a lot less fun on a naked bike!
Yeah, I actually prefer the SV with fairings in terms of the looks.

ahh I keep forgetting your young

try a test ride on the er6 though, they seem a decent bike to me,they rubber mounted the engines after 2012 I think which improved the vibes a lot
I'm too mature for my age, hahaha :p ....nah just kidding. I will do, test ride couple bikes to get an idea of which one I will enjoy the most.

From just after I picked it tup, it has a lovely scrape on one side of the tank now due to a locked from wheel back in February, oh and new stainless exhaust and silcencer.

Bit dirtier now too, but then it does loads of miles in all weathers.[/QUOTE]

I would love CB400 Superfour in black, not sure if anyone is subscribing 'AridersLife'?

Search for "virus rider" on youtube that's who's bike that is.

Mine sounds very much like that, a normal IL4 sound below 7k rpm and a wailing banshee over 7k rpm :D

One from my Wales trip

55mpg average (200 miles to a tank), £90 to insute TPFT, never misses a beat. 0-60 in 5 seconds, 120mph top speed.

It's a shame they were never sold over here, they're very overbuilt - they have the same front calipers as the SP2 with dual 285mm floating discs. compare that to some of the 350/400cc bikes coming out now with a single front disc.

Once mine has done commuting duty for a couple of years I'd love to strip it down and repaint the engine/frame etc, get it back to mint condition. Wouldn't take that much money or effort, it's mainly cosmetics as the bike runs like clockwork.

I would love a 4 cylinder like a CB400 or ZX2R, love the engine noise. It's a shame that all the newer bikes are missing a 'soul'... :(

BTW I totally forgot about those pics, a couple stopped by my KTM when I stopped to get something to eat and drink ( I went on a 350 miles trip in a day or something like that.) It came out that they also like bikes, here's one of their bikes that they were towing.

I would love to have a go on a classic bike like this. :)

The SV is better (In my view) as it has more character, feels/handles better and has a much better sound than the vibratey parallel twin engine on the ER6

I'd disagree - the ER6 is a far more modern and developed bike. It's what most racers use in the supertwin class these days. That engine is a peach and not vibey at all (I had the Versys for a few years)

now that's a proper bike :D

I like the triumph Bonneville twins
I quite like modern-classical look, some might say its for hipsters. But not a single duck given what those people think... :p

I always take others opinions with a pinch of salt, even when I read reviews from MCN or other reviewing sites. :)

I'll have to test couple bikes and see which one suits me best, everyone is different and has different preferences/expectations. This world would be too boring if everyone just liked the same thing, don't you think? :p

You can get ones that only need a bit of working for £3-4k

Here's mine:

So I just fitted a new headlight and pilot light. It seems much brighter, I also need to clean all the flies off the lens though...

What did I do to my bike today? Nearly threw it down the road! :o :p

The sun has made an appearance this morning giving me a false sense of confidence despite the roads being soaking. (I know I should know better but it's rained for a week solid so a bit of sun is nice :p).

Second gear rolling up to some lights in a 40mph and they turn green so I twist, smoothly but not soft, and there were few bumps which unsettle the rear causing it to squirm out to the left. Kept the throttle on and it sorted itself out.

Changed underwear and the rest of the trip was a 6th gear 2k rpm job :p

Stupid I know.

I had a similar close shave the other day - first time in 3 years of ownership that traction control has been useful! Was riding into work in a rush and was just aggressive on the throttle as I went to overtake a car on a bend in the wet at about 50mph. Back end spun up and kicked out quite a long way and before I had chance to react the TC kicked in, cut the power and sorted everything out.

Like you I then continued the journey in a much more sedate manner!

Completely my fault - can't have been diesel as the front was fine. Just over confident in the new tyres as they had been so grippy in absolute downpours recently.

You're always learning!

Well I'm probably bias ;)

I rode the ER6 for my DAS but have found the SV to be more exciting

Had a similar thing the other week. I don't have traction control so I had to roll off a bit and hope it came back. It came back but when it snapped back it nearly high sided me. As like everyone else the rest of the journey was like driving ms Daisy.

She hit 25K riding to work this morning. It's only taken her 15 years to do so :D

I had a brilliant ride into work this morning first time in a while I've opened to curtains to sun and bone dry roads!
It was ruined by the fact I seen the workmen setting up the signs for "We're going to be spreading loose stony death over this road later, good luck!"
So I'm not so much looking forward to my trip home :(

Cut some of the rear mudguard off today, Didn't go to bad so when I get a decent day I'm going to remove it & cut it back some more. Bike looks better without a front mudguard on so I'm running without one for a bit to see what it's like whilst out & about.
No decent pics yet but I'll take a few when out if I remember.

Will do the front indicators when I've made/found a couple of brackets.

Where's the front mudguard?

I'm lazy, ok?! :p

In the shed I've gone all Fonzi. :p

I think that some sort of front mudguard would look better than none at all, but that's my opinion. If you like it just leave it, after your transformation it looks much better than original anyway.
