What did you do to your bike today?

Stuck some bar risers on this evening, hopefully it'll sort out the shoulder pain I get on long rides. The GSXF has a really awkward riding position, not forward enough to lock arms but not back enough to sit upright for long periods...

Brought this today :D 2006 CBR 600RR 7k miles. Then came home to have a £700 tax rebate, all in all a good day! :p

Real solid bikes those CBR RRs' but that seat is far to slim for my skinny white **** I'd have to get it padded out a bit.

Woke up to a nice morning here for a change, Think I may have finally got a day where I'm not going to get wet. Todays a fun day for me so I'll be mainly riding with a little bit of polishing in between.

Fixed my rattling front mudguard, that thing was driving me mad! Any slow speed riding on bumps and it was 'clonk, clonk'. Bit of extra foam on to of the 14 year old hard foam where it sits on the fork legs and blissful silince :D

Also took a trip out to Ashford performance open day, loads of bikes there, some bikes getting dyno'd (£10 for a dyno run, there was a 600-1000cc class and a 1000cc class whith winners for both, but no 400cc class :(

There was a pikes peak multistrada there (ooh, carbon... :D) and a couple of '15 R1's, one of which was in the race rep colours - looked stonkingly good. Had a nosey at the 2015 mutlistrada, a KTM 1190 adventure, and they have a 2015 Speed triple R in the used section. All 3 are on my list to try at some point.

Had a quick ride on the CBR today before it started to chuck it down. Luckily got home before it started. Bloody hell its fast only gave it a quick squirt of power down the big long straight near my house, got to about 10k rpm in 2nd, let off, looked down at speedo and was flying! Feels strange round the corners with the steering ratio and the whole leaning thing with regards to body position & gripping the tank with knees etc. Deffo got to take it easy and get used to it.

Going to have a proper ride around most of the day tomorrow as the weather is going to be good :)

Trying to get hold of a rear seat cowl as im never going to carry a pillion, but cant find anything for my 2006. Only the cheap crap from china which doesn't fit properly and colour matching is terrible.

You'll get used to leaning

Keep eye out on eBay for a seat cowl

May do one of those advanced motorcycle courses at some point, just to knock down the insurance (cost me £819 3rd party F&T). After a year however I imagine it will drop by a fair bit being 25 & 1 years NCB.
Got 7 years NCB on my car, costs me £185 for the entire year (seat arosa sport 1.4) lol big difference, but to be expected.

I don't think they reduce your insurance much tbh,not sure

And yhvit will be expensive at first but once you have a year under your belt it will come down a fair bit

Yep once you've had your licence a year it comes down a lot, stuff I couldn't even dream of insuring as a new rider with 0 NCD suddenly becomes reasonably priced after a year of riding. I'm talking £8 grand's worth of 130-150bhp bike.

Just go steady on TPF&T insurance, one lowside and you'll be looking at a 4 figure repair bill - fairings ain't cheap to repair.

Trust me; I am very respectful of bikes due to 13 years of motocross experience & a major car crash at 60mph to a dead stop whilst driving (broke both legs). I plan on riding within my limits that's for sure. Dont feel like putting 3.5K down the drain.

Now I have my A licence I can ride on track days on my uncles track S-Rad GSX-R 750 (2000) which will be nice. Build up some experience at higher speeds safely.
