What did you do to your bike today?

Will put it back on come Winter but it'll be cut down a fair bit, I do like how it looks without one though.

If it hasn't already got a radiator grill it'll need one with no front fender. Mods so far have made it look immensely better imo!

Thanks Bud & Yep it's got a rad guard but I painted it black so it's hard to see, I'll keep my eye on the Rad though & if there's many knocks to the rad guard I'll put the front guard back on once it's cut down & sprayed.

Tried to avoid all the fresh surface dressing on my usual route into Brum last night so went a different way only to find a load more of the ****!
Even worse was I had to turn right off the worlds smallest tightest roundabout that was still covered in all the crap I've never stayed so slow and upright around a roundabout than I did last night.

Whoever thinks this stuff is a good idea has obviously never had to ride a bike over it, even at 20mph the bike was slipping and sliding all over the road.

Just treated myself to a Furygan Houston Amo 2 jacket from sports bike shop as a birthday present to myself, lets hope it fits.

It really needs to be banned, but what do you expect from lazy half arsed councils, throw gravel down and just let the cars do the work of levelling the surface, whilst for anything on two wheels it turns into a death trap, cant imagine what it must be like for cyclists.

Yup, not nice. Had on the roads just outside work the other day, luckily I was off for the following week, so came back and it was sorted. All the little stones pinging off my paint even at <20mph :(

Put in a claim to the council. If they're aware of a pot hole and you get damage they have to pay. Stands to reason they're aware of roadworks they're paying for.

I don't have a problem controlling the bike on roads with fresh gravel down but what really boils my **** are the car van & truck drivers that don't slow down showering you in untold gravel & stones. ******* ***** need a damn good kicking. :p

Just checked the weather for Snowdonia and Barmouth for the beginning of next week and it's going to be peeing down, lovely riding weather for me! :(

Looking good 4TS. I so want to do one myself..........
What pipes are you going to use on it? Or are you just going to cut down and wrap the stock ones? Although, those don't look stock that you have on it now.

There Highway Hawks & I think I'll just wrap them. :)

So, PH not a hugely friendly place: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/...ing+around+under+straight+line+acceleration.+

Wish I'd posted on here instead haha. (Although I did get some really helpful/nice people answering and it turned out it was 'user error' in any case :D

What was the problem? Can't be bothered to read through that thread as it seems to go off into a bit of an argument! :p. Would be genuinely interested to know how you go it sliding out so much purely from user error though!

An yeah, biker's section on this forum is nice. I've been on a few dedicated bike forums, so would have expected a quicker response/more opinions etc. from them but always end up coming back here.

You didn't ask us here first..... dead to us :(

I'm sowweh :( It won't happen again I pwomise

Yeah basically I thought a dedicated bike place would get some quick responses. As for sliding around, I suspect it's the road, high tyre pressure, and ham fistedness. We have some crappy roads around here, and I guess it's just happened that I've been ham fisted in the wrong places, so likely just a coincidence. I've been ham fisted on other roads and not had a problem so I guess bad judgement on my part. Mechanic said the tyres were way too high also, so I suppose that could cause the problem also.

And yeah I got a few nice replies and most posters were helpful. It's just a few that didn't believe the situation... which is weird. I mean ok, if you don't believe it then just stay out of the thread haha. I want to solve the problem even if that problem is my driving. But to just have people repeat that it's not happening was just odd. If I was going to make something up, I'd make something up that made me sound badass, rather than I can't drive very well! :D

Yeah high tyre pressure means a smaller contact patch, and a bike tyres contact is small enough with correct pressures! That combined with the super shiny glass like roads in hot countries, not surprising you got a little wheel spin.

Hey dude, how's the 400 going? You had an off a while ago and were going to fix it up I believe?

Yeah the first two times it was tiny, once on a roundabout. Second time on the straight but just like a tiny slip and then it caught. But the last time when I was really giving it some revs it literally swung left to right and terrified me. The first two times i thought nothing of it. I was a tiny bit smug even thinking "Oh I controlled that" but the last time really knocked my confidence as I realised nope, really not in control here.

My little CB400 is still going great, my little off was back in February - just cosmetic stuff (headlight, dash casing etc) so not a big deal. Done over 7000 miles on it since the start the start of the year now, it's not missed a beat.
