What did you do to your bike today?

I've noticed something strange over the last week or so, there seems to be BMW GS or very similar adventure style bikes popping up everywhere! Paired with the rider in their full touring style textiles.

New MOT ticket for another year.

Put on some new front discs and pads and rear tyre beforehand. Just needed new front wheel bearing for the test.

Tempted to get a litre bike next year.

whats your current bike?

1litres are a bit dull after a while, for me anyway

CBR600FS, first bike. Nearly had it two years.

I'd probably keep it tbh and get something like a Tuono, big twin supermoto or naked maybe. Feel like trying something a bit different.

Get a test ride on a naked thou, something with around 140bhp or more. You'll get a great sensation of speed and they're bloody good fun :D

IL4/V4/Twin depending on your preference.

Where's benj with the white zx6 r? Do me a favour?

With your steering straight how many fingers can you get between tyre and the bellypan/fairing?

Getting pretty close with the bike already eh? Not sure if fingers are a good measurement as people hands vary massively

Paddock stand is way better for just doing the chain, but the ABBA stand is great for everything else, and storing over winter off the ground.

Changed front tyre in the rain today, went to try it out as it's a 120 70 rather than a 120 60, bike starter wouldn't work, I thought wierd il try bump start.. Three attempts later I'm annoyed, seat off and test battery, 12.8v.... Tank off and put power straight into the starter soleniod, starter motor turns but won't crank.... Getting mad now.... About to pull the plugs when I notice... The kill switch was on!!!!!! MAD doesn't cover it, such a school boy error.

Got my ABBA stand today, it's awesome!

Yup, they're amazing. I got rid of my old stands for my Hornet as my abba works on my Hornet and my Speed :D. Can't believe I didn't just get the abba to start with - so much better than anything else I've tried.

Need to get myself the front attachment so I can change both tyres at the same time ready for winter.

My battery died today whilst coming back from London on A414, I was stuck on truck parking for around 6-7 hours. I managed to get my bike up and running just to get me back home, my dad helped me. It sucks having everything electric, I miss old good bikes with carburettor's.

BTW The reason for being stuck there for that long was because my phone died in London, I forgot my powerbank.

The only thing that ***** me off, was the fact that no one stopped. Not even police when I tried to wave someone down. All the bikes just went pass like 0 F's were given, I usually slow down and check with a gesture if everything is ok. Ehh.... I'm going to bed, tired. Night

Edit

Massive thanks to truck drivers, 1 truck driver flashed with lights and slow down to check. I thought everything is ok and showed him 'ok' sign, another one stopped when I waved him down. 1st truck had Polish plates, 2nd trucker who stopped and charged my phone was from Romania. If not them I'm not sure how long I would be stuck there for...

What bike where you on? What time? I can't really say when I stopped, but it was just coming out of hatfield, around 2-3 miles into A414 I think.

The battery was the cause of issues, on my bike everything relies on electricity. So my throttle, gearbox, injectors, speedo and the bike just looses power when the battery is dying as its not getting fuel.

At least I went to some dealers e.g. Kawasaki and had a chance of sitting down and feeling the weight of ER6-F for example. I was surprised, couldn't really feel the weight. On the other hand Honda had rubbish offers and bikes, their excess was £2500 and Kawasaki's was only £975... The guy I spoke to over at Kawasaki pays £1750 for his z636r, my £2250 doesn't seem to bad compared to someone who is 25. But he had 3 or 4 claims, that could be the reason...

Front attachment? I have the rear attachment that lifts the front wheel. That way I can have it fully suspended with no load on the tyres and suspension over winter :)
