What did you do to your bike today?

So is this DBpower cam you chaps are buying a SJ4000 copy?

Something like that, I guess. It's probably all the same dodgy Chinese crap tbh, but for the price it's amazing. Also, if you click onto the slightly more expensive wifi models of the dbpower camera, you will see sj4000 on the casing in the picture... I bet they're all just rebranded sj4000s.

Exactly the same basket as me when I ordered mine on Friday :D. Enjoy.

I should get some commission for this, that rear video I took sold 2 so far!

I actually cancelled the order, just looking at Xiaomi Yi, they also do smartphones which are actually quite good. This action cam uses Sony sensor, but I'm just doing some reading now.

Yeah, pretty much its a copy of SJ4000 without WiFi.

I tried to make sure I got a genuine SJCAM one cause I kept hearing horror stories about firmware upgrades on copies but if you never update it you should be safe.

Sensible choice although you'll have to buy a waterproof case and mounts but they're not that expensive.

Yh but add on the extra battery price and all the accessories

Looking at Craig's footage that's all you need quality wise, the xiaomi is a better camera but would you be able to tell? Idk

Yeah looking at youtube footage it's really obvious which is the better camera between the official SJ4000 and the Xiaomi let alone the copies.
If you want to keep high quality footage then the Xiaomi is the camera to go for and while it's more expensive I think it'd only be about £20 quid more to get what you need so it's worth it imho if you want the quality.

Ordering from China saves me good 20 quid, I never got charged any import tax so hopefully I won't be this time either...

Paid 56 quid for the whole bundle. :D

Some ***** almost took me off my bike this morning, 5.30am, pouring down and this nob is 2 inches from my back wheel, had to break hard as someone wasn't arsed waiting and pulled out just as I was coming towards the junction, then the nob behind me decides he wants to overtake me as I entered a mini roundabout

We've definitely hit the time of year where people are beginning to drive with their eyes closed, had 2 people in the last 2 days just getting a touch too close for comfort pulling out of junctions and into lanes.

A biker in front of me almost came off the other day. It was one of those junctions where you get a green light but not necessarily right of way. So normally the opposite cars can turn right (across our path) because cars are slow. This time it was a bike at the front, because the bike was quick the car didn't have enough time to turn across the lane. Fortunately the bike was turning left so the car realised he misjudged the junction and the bike carried on it's way.

It's a problematic junction though, you get people that have never been to it before that just assume they have right of way because it's a green light, but equally you get people that drive it everyday that know if they floor it from the line then often two cars can turn right before they're in the way of the oncoming cars.

I detest junctions like that. Just let each four corner get its own green light where they have full right of way.

I hope my ramblings made sense...

We had a junction like that. They changed the timings of the lights so that the guys that could floor it couldn't do that as their lights stayed red for an extra 10 secs compared to the opposite side. Works quite well now.

Maybe suggest something like that to the council? As soon as you put it to them it's dangerous and that there will be an accident most take enough notice to at least give you a reply etc.
