What did you do to your bike today?

Kawasaki have improved the design of their bikes, I saw and sat on the ZX636R from 2015. I wouldn't mind one, if the insurance is cheap on them even better.

Are you going for the newer shape? What's your budget?

Not too sure yet, haven't really thought about them too much, need to pass my DAS first :)

No budget in mind, I paid £2600 for my duke, if I get £2000 trade in for that, I'll put a few thousand towards a new one :)

Kawasaki in London offered me £1980 for my duke when I was looking at the ER6-F, what colour are you thinking of for the ZX636R? :D

Clutch cable snapped on the way home yesterday... Luckily it snapped 5 mins walk from home. No one has a replacement on the shelf tough

Wemoto or demon tweaks are both pretty speedy with delivery, it was quicker for me to order from Wemoto when mine went than wait for any local garage to actually get one in.

Carbs balanced and new rear Tyre.

She runs smooth and creamy again.

How much did you pay for the sync?

Were any out of sync? What's the symptoms just rough idling or rough running in general?

Ain't had mine checked in years

Out of balance carbs affect idle/pilot jet circuit only, all the sync is doing is making sure all the throttle butterfly's are open the same amount letting in the same amount of air, this is measured by vacuum. Once your twisted past 1/8 of throttle you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference, unless they are super bad and you may get surging/lean condition on out of sync cylinders but if they are that bad you'd be lucky if your able to start the bike anyway. I think you know that anyway though ;) If you wern't the other side of the country I'd pop over with my sync tool for you to play :) ......unless you promise to post em back?

A set of vacuum gauges costs around £50 and will last you a life time, the longest part of any carb sync is taking the bike apart. There really is something quite satisfying about getting all the needles lined up and hearing the engine purr smoothly

Someone on FB has just posted a picture ranting about cars parking in motorcycle bays, then proceeded to park across the front of them outside of any bay and then tell on them to the parking wardens are people really this daft!?
They're now both parked somewhere they shouldn't be, do they really think the money grabbers will ticket the car and not the bike.
Their next bright idea is WD40 on the windscreen, brilliant lets make it even more difficult for cars to see us! Prats.

^wow^ so the mentality is lets also park where they can get a ticket and then go and fetch said parking warden who can then give both vehicles a ticket... not only that put the rest of the general public in severe danger by visibly impairing their windscreen? A bit irrational i think, also criminal damage?

It could be that i'm not 100% used to fuel injection, or Suzuki went real cheap (as they do) on the GSXF/Bandits, or in fact i need to adjust the throttle. But it feels as though with my throttle it suddenly cuts/applies power, almost like it leaps from 5/10% throttle to 0% and visa-versa. Never had this on previous bikes, but they had good ol' carbs

Any tricks to adjusting the throttle?

Google adjusting the TPS (Throttle position sensor).

I hate the british weather. Yesterday, forecast heavy rain - full waterproofs on riding to work, barely a spot.

This morning, dry when I left, forecast the odd shower. Kept my kevlar jeans on, no waterproofs. 2-3 miles from work, started spitting, then... biblical rain :(

Think I'll started wearing my textile bottoms with my leather jacket as the furygan leather stuff is water repellent, it does well even in some heavy rain so long as it's not too long.

Thanks for the offer controller, I'll probably leave it till I get the valves checked, they have to re sync the carbs after they do that anyway, its running alright ATM but I bet they need some adjustment

@Rossi if its always been jerky then its probably just the nature of the bike, greasing up your throttle tube might help it

EDIT: does the throttle move freely aswell?

Wow, you sounded like a professional sales man. :p

I'll thanks, I won't be buying anything this year though. I don't have enough cash, too many expenses and going on holiday this Friday. :p

Unlike Yamaha, Kawasaki will actually let you test ride the bike, well depends on the dealer in your area. But in my closest dealer there are young blokes working on the shopfloor who are very professional and approachable.

Yamaha told me I would have to held my license for least 2 years and have held a policy within that time... In Honda some old bloke took a nap in his office, so I didn't want to wake him up. :D

Taken to a garage, I don't have the equipment. The charge for taking the wheels off and fitting tires is about $130... the entire tire set was only $250 (Bridgestone RS10).

Tire prices are so much better here
