What did you do to your bike today?

My bike has cut out twice now upon depressing the clutch in traffic. Months apart mind so not a regular thing, any idea though why?

Cheers

Same happened to my mates TL last week.
His problem was a loose spade connection to the clutch switch...a bit of a waggle and we were off again (on our way).

Had a moment just where I'm sitting in a queue of traffic maybe 50
Cars long because of roadworks and a 3 way traffic system, only realising after 5 minutes I'm on a bike, took a quick life saver and straight to the front, just as I passed the car first in line, it went green :D no idea why I didn't clock on straight away lol..

Looks like KTM is getting in on the 'adventure-sports' market - a touring/GT version of the 1290 superduke. Yes please!!! Want.

One thing that i didn't like about the 1190 and 1290 adventure bikes was their offroad focus, vs the multistrada and s1000xr - this looks like it could be really good, a more comfortable version of the 1290 superduke :D

Yep, much want :D Reading the write up (they rode the prototype) they think it'll be the same 180bhp ish of the naked version, that's just mental!

It's gonna be big money though, how much is a super duke, 15k? edit - £13,999 - so about £15,000 for this - right in line with the multistrada and S1000XR.

Looks like it'll be fully loaded - cornering abs, quickshifter, cornering lights, self cancelling indicators, a brand new trick lcd dash, leccy suspension, panniers, and so on...

@dockie that lookslike a lot of fiddly damage, you could check your ignition barrel some unbolt from the housing that's cracked

the rest you could patch up I suppose with second hand parts, whats melted by the exhaust??

whats the k1300 like?

Hey Tefal. I love my k1300s. I'm at 46,000 miles now, bought about 3 years ago at 14k ish. It has huge power and accesses a bunch of is pretty low down. I can do my a road commute in 2nd gear or 6th gear and progress well enough! :)

For me it's comfortable up to about three hours. After that and/or a long day I start to get a bit uncomfortable. I'm 5'8 so maybe I have to reach a bit more than some.

I get about 170 miles doing the weekly commute which is about 17 miles each way. It lives outside and gets serviced and cleaned by BMW. I'm on the insured warranty and it's covered most stuff. Unfortunately the rear shock and suspension stuff is out of cover after 30,000 miles :(.

Oh, I don't have the electronic suspension, but given the cost to refurb that and various people never knowing if they can tell the difference, I'm ok with it. I have TCS and ABS which for me were the must haves with 175bhp and not being able to predict the future.

I'm attached enough to it - oh, the sports panniers are decent enough for me, fit a lid or a week of stuff for a Europe trip - that right now I'd only replace it with a newer one. I keep waiting though to see if they do a real update. And I don't want to realise the depreciation just yet hehe.

Brought some new bits for the bike. Steering damper being the main thing, will set up the bikes suspension then. Always had ASV's on my motocross bikes and they have always been fantastic, never broken a set when I have come off. Hopefully that's not relevant on a road bike. Screen should be a lot better as well. The stock one is quite low down and you really have to be tucked in to get below it.

As expected, Bridgestone RS10's are epic.

Did about 30miles and scrubbed them fairly well, always apprehensive of the front when scrubbing so still got 2" strips on the back. They'll be gone by the weekend
