What did you do to your bike today?

Yeh true, but I guess I have to think that I'll be doing this again in probably around a year or a bit more when my new tyres have worn out at which point I'll be up on cash as I'll have all the tools and it'll take 2 mins :)
When my front tyre is worn out I'll have front paddock stand by then, so will do as you say and just get them to fit it, but in the short term it was easier and cheaper to let the garage do it.
I have a large adjustable spanner for mine,I wouldn't bounce on a torque wrench though

You need an adaptor to fit the front spindle on some bikes as well, its a stepped socket type thing

I linked to one from machine mart but he doesn't have one nearby, and halfords for some reason don't sell them?

Halfords can be good for some things but rubbish for a lot of things - like an amber indicator bulb. All bikes now come with clear lenses and amber bulbs, did they have ANY? Nope. And my local Honda main dealer was cheaper for oil and dot4 brake fluid!

I'm sure someone on here posted pictures of their own tyre removal/fitting tool, seem to remember them being in Kent too... :D

That would be me, never taken my bike to a garage. Apart from some one time welding of an exhaust. I have 4 tyres i have no idea how to get rid off in my shed.

Car turning up in a min, then off to replace some tyres :D

Came off nice and easy once I had the right tools!

Edit: just picked them up

Now I just need to put them on!

So many treads, I now have more than one tread :D

:D thank you! The new tyres look so much better than I imagined, nice & chunky, especially that rear!

Oh, and special points go to anyone who can guess the bike from the bit of exhaust poking out on the right :)

All done!

While putting them on, I noticed there's no longer a balance weight on the front (should have checked while they were still at the shop, but forgot). Called the guy up and he said it was balanced fine without, so there was no need. Does that sound right?

You'll find out when you take it out and it feels like you're riding a vibrator :D

should be alright, mines flung one off the rear yet its fine

did you t-cut those marks out yet?

I'll see how it goes with the balancing. Just seemed odd to me that neither needed a balance weight. The rear has never had one, but the front did.

Not yet. But you've just reminded me, I forgot to pick some up when I was back at Halfords again this morning! Meh!

Might do it tomorrow. I have the rest of the week off, and want to take my new tyres for a spin :)

Hmm, stop tempting me to add an abba stand to my tool list...

I don't think it fits the CB400 (although they used one or something very similar to change my front tyre) but that looks perfect for storing a bike through the winter with both wheels suspended. Shame they're £150 once you want to get both wheels off the ground.

Hehe. Do it! It'll more than likely work on any bike you get in the future as well (all you need to buy is a £10 adapter normally). It basically works on all non-classic style bikes from what I've seen/read.

They have the NC23 and NC29 listed as compatible on Abba site, not sure if yours is either of those?
