What did you do to your bike today?

Got a Pilot 4 put on the front at lunch. As soon as the wheel was put back on it tipped it down. Queue some very careful riding back to the office

Too much £278 inc fitting  and no, on bike fitting.

No where near as cheap as I could have got them but convenience wins in this case.

That's not TOO bad tbh. £180-ish for tyres from oponeo and £40 fit and balance is what I paid (loose wheels). Then I also had to buy a huge 40mm socket and breaker bar although both those can be used for other things and next time, so I didn't count those into the cost!

To be honest it doesn't bother me too much the only other thing either of my bikes has gone near a garage for is to have the forks straightened after I came off my YBR apart from that all other bits and bobs like chain and sprocket replacements and general servicing stuff has been done by me so it's not like I'm having my pants pulled down regularly.

Plus this way I can drop it off, walk the 2 minutes to the office and not have to break a sweat.

I've cleaned the chain, adjusted it & half fitted the loobman, I think I've done it right. I'm never 100% sure I've done anything quite right. :(

Before I finish it off tomorrow I thought it's best to lube up the chain and sprocket but rather than use the last of my spray can, I went with the 10w40 I thankfully had lying around. I can now see the issue of fling and have a puddle of the the stuff dripping but the chain looks really clean and I can imagine a steady stream of that stuff every ride will hopefully mean I don't have to clean it for a long time.

A £3 controller was probably cheaper than dealing with burns claims :D

God If it had been £3 quid then no issue. Never understood why it was an optional extra anyway. I think it was about £40 quid at the time. They're about £25 quid now but I remember being really put off by what seemed like an excessively high price for something I wasn't 100% sure about.

Oh yeah there's no way we could get them for that but it won't cost them any more than that to actually make and throw in with a pair of gloves.

I'm going to need something to keep my neck and lowet face warm, what kind of a snood do you ladies use?

Just the thin ones, got a pack of 3 for free at a bike show last year and another free from Triumph the other day and they're really cheap on eBay. I do have a thicker proper thermal one, but only for longer trips.

Not done anything today but this has arrived ready for when the braided brake lines do :)

When it starts to get down to a regular 3-4 degrees in the mornings I use a Knox cold killers neck tube. Goes over my nose/mouse, and is tucked into my jacket. If it's proper cold/if I'm gonna be sitting at 70 for a while then I have a thermal balaclava too. That's one downside of a naked bike, you get all the icy windblast :(

The cold killers stuff is awesome https://www.planet-knox.com/product/cold-killers-mini-tube/

I have that exact bleed kit, but never had much luck with it, don't think mine sealed very well. These days I just use a piece of tropical fish pipe on the bleed nipple, other end in an inch of brake fluid and do the normal open, squeeze, tighten, release bleed.

That can't be right!

Ha, I meant nose/mouth ;)

Unless you meant something different :D

I do seem to be a little more 'cold hardened' this winter though, I'm wearing kevlar jeans and a leather jacket with just a light necktube on days where I would have been in full textiles and neck tube pulled up over my nose a year ago, but then this is my 2nd winter on the bike.

Have one similar , one thing get some ptfe plumbers tape just in case it sucks air down the threads on the bleed nipple. mine did and i couldn't bleed to brakes with it till I put some tape on the bleed nipples.

As for my bike.
I will be fitting this R1 master cylinder soon to the ZR7, to give me a little bit more power at the callipers

Thanks for the heads up, we have tonnes of the stuff at work so I'll borrow a roll for the job.
