What did you do to your bike today?

Thanks for the neck tube suggestions, I think I'm going to go for one of these http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=151842185815&alt=web

As for my bike.
I will be fitting this R1 master cylinder soon to the ZR7, to give me a little bit more power at the callipers

14mm right? How much did you pay for it? The larger the cylinder size the harder the lever will feel, you will actually start to lose braking power but what you do gain is less lever travel to achieve the braking effect..bear that in mind when you panic grab the lever with the new master cylinder. It could send you sliding or over the bars. Either way a very good upgrade for your calipers.

Ha, I meant nose/mouth ;)

Unless you meant something different :D

I do seem to be a little more 'cold hardened' this winter though, I'm wearing kevlar jeans and a leather jacket with just a light necktube on days where I would have been in full textiles and neck tube pulled up over my nose a year ago, but then this is my 2nd winter on the bike.

I am experiencing the same - my 2nd winter commuting on my ybr125, and have only put a neck warmer on a handful of times so far, not even got thermal lining in trousers yet!

Had my waterproofs on pretty much since July though, so they probably help keep me warm.

I've cleaned the chain, adjusted it & half fitted the loobman, I think I've done it right. I'm never 100% sure I've done anything quite right. :(

Before I finish it off tomorrow I thought it's best to lube up the chain and sprocket but rather than use the last of my spray can, I went with the 10w40 I thankfully had lying around. I can now see the issue of fling and have a puddle of the the stuff dripping but the chain looks really clean and I can imagine a steady stream of that stuff every ride will hopefully mean I don't have to clean it for a long time.

God If it had been £3 quid then no issue. Never understood why it was an optional extra anyway. I think it was about £40 quid at the time. They're about £25 quid now but I remember being really put off by what seemed like an excessively high price for something I wasn't 100% sure about.

Just read this and wondered what a loobman was, a little googling later, and I have just bought myself one. Wanted a scottoiler for ages, but couldn't pay that much to basically admit I'm too lazy to oil my chain.

300 miles a week though, so it's going to get some use! Just chuck some 10/40 engine oil in yes?

Yeah 14mm, the stock is 15.8mm. Cost me £40
There just isn't enough bite as it is, you need all 4 fingers and a good squeeze to bring the bike to a stop if your going fast. I'm only ever used 2 finger braking on my cbr6 and that only had twin piston callipers also. These are just terrible.

10W40 is what Dennis 'Loobman' seems to recommend and what I'm gonna try as I have quite a bit of it around but you can use whatever oil you think is best, I may switch over to gear oil eventually but I'll see how it goes.

FYI anyone looking for a gopro, argos currently have the GoPro 3+ Silver edition on offer with an extra battery 'bacpac' for £150. Does 1080p 60fps.

Rainforest price without the extra battery is £195

The standard hero (grey colour) is the budget one, they're under £100 elsewhere. Non removable battery, 1080p 30fps etc.

So they are, that's a bit of a naff thing to be shouting about in their black Friday email then and there's a 10 day lead time.

Xiaomi yi for £46 is best, its what I'm getting

Only issue with the Yi is no external mic input. I'll probably end up with a gopro with external mic (mic in the back of my helmet somewhere to pick up exhaust noise) as a main camera with a Yi or 2 as extras mounted on the bike. The old separate recorder is great if you're doing a short run but for when you're starting and stopping recording all the time a built in external mic will be miles easier.

Demon Tweaks have the GoPro Hero for £109 as well, no idea what the difference is.

I bought my 2x 2014 Heros for £85 each 2 weeks after launch so they should be a lot cheaper than that.

They're great as second cameras but no mic or battery options so a bit limited for main cameras.

For anyone looking for a GoPro, Tesco Direct do them and you get double the worth on your points (if you have any). Currently I can get the latest GoPro black edition for £160 :D

Suzuki Gladius still resting..
Changed engine and gear oil on my 125cc scooter...
Will start to change many many parts on my 50cc scooter now, wish me luck!
(I dunno why I keep spending money on it, this year I already spent 2/3 of it's value in parts)

Received my keis x25 heated jacket today! I'm not allowed to attach it to the courtesy bike so I can't play with it until I get mine back! Even just wearing it has me feel I g incredibly hot. Fits really well around the body but the sleeves are like an inch to short. I'm debating wether to send it back for a bigger size, but seeing as it's a heated jacket I want it to be snug around my torso, I won't be wearing it solo, only under my jacket, would the sleeves bother you?
