What did you do to your bike today?

Ok it's they are on and charging, can I check if the bike starts up while charging or should I leave it?

I'd leave it for a bit personally, I'm not sure how a standard charger rather than a jump pack type thing would handle the large current draw on start up.

*shudder* Bridgestone.... none of the ones I've had have been much good, Pirelli FTW :D

The new Diablo Rosso III's look nice, they're the tyre up from the Angel GT, dual compound rear but more of a sporty profile and tread pattern. Should be good for a summer/touring bike.

Wrapping condoms around your wheels would be a massive improvement over Battlax, god awful tyres with zero feedback, & don't know how Bridgestone manage to get them fitted as oem tyres tbh.

True that!!!

Good lord, the stock Bridgestones on my GSX650 were awful. The PR4s are absolutely fantastic.

are battleaxe as bad as maxxis then?:D

@clovis I always disconnect my battery now and then charge it,pretty sure I burnt a relay out by leaving it connected to the bike but could have been imagining it

@Controller its cos its over 10 years old they will just write it off,are you buying it back of them?

Anyone ever polished their visor to take out the little micro scratches that get really annoying now it's dark, wet and the roads are filled with brighter than the sun headlights and got any tips?

I'm going to pick up a spare anyway but if I can eek some more life out of this one that would be nice.

Ok got a problem with my bike now, it's been on charge for 2 hours, wanted to see if it powered up so i have reconnected the battery, turned the key and the dash lights up but pressing the ignition won't start the bike, i have recorded a quick video of what i mean, trying to do this in pitch black because the bloody outside light keeps going off lol..

Whenever i try and power it up, it makes a funny noise.

Could it just be the battery isn't charged enough or a fuse has gone?

Just uploading a quick video to youtube now..

a click click click sound? that's the starter relay, those chargers are slow its meant to leave them attached permanently while the bikes layed up

best leave it overnight on charge then try in the morning

if its clicking it just means theres not enough power to turn over the starter motor

Yeah, here is a quick video of what's happening, will put it back on charge and leave overnight. Was hoping to take it to work tomorrow too.

yeah theres not enough power yet

how long you had it on charge? think mine takes roughly 5 or 6 hours, but it shows a green light when charged

1300 pay out with a buy back of 325. I really can't argue with that. So I didn't.

The bike hopefully will be back with me next week. And back on the road by the end of next week.

Tail fairing, inspection panel fairings, mirrors, bar end, indicator, crash bobbins, end can is loose with a crack in the carbon part, and a couple other cosmetics. All superficial stuff. A mirror n indicator will see it through an mot and back onto the road. It's finding the fairings that's the trouble.

I need a socket set, been using the one that came with my car but it's a faff having to keep putting it back etc.

I don't need anything expensive as it'll be just for my bike, looking around there's a makita 48 piece socket set for £22, no point in spending £150 at halfords as it'll be a waste of money.

You say that now but there's plenty of times I'd have been stuffed if I didn't have the full Halfords set!

If you're planning on staying with bikes for a long time then it's a good investment, especially as it's all guaranteed for life.

Halford advanced here too. It has helped me out with sizes I never knew I needed. That and when your cheap socket chews itself open when you need it the most you will be regretting not buying a decent set.
