What did you do to your bike today?

That's why more power is better :D more power = quicker overtakes = less time in the opposite lane = safer. :p

That's why, I prefer to wait till my next bike as 1 year ncb did nothing to my insurance when I did a future quote.

3-4 seconds 0-62mph, can't wait. :P

Just been looking at where to go on the 2 day quickie trip I want to do early next summer (April/May) and it looks like the area round Spa is within reach - east of the Ardennes, north Luxembourg and sort of south west of the Spa circuit, with only an hour or so on the autoroute to get through the boring flat northern France bit. Anyone been down that way? Goes without saying that the roads look pretty good!

Yeah, I went down there two years ago and we stayed in St Vith. Really good roads around there, although they're quite broken up in some places. It is lovely in the forests though, and there are some great rides just across the border in Germany.

Cheers, I'm planning a longer trip up the Moselle valley to Koblenz, then up to the Eifel mountains (Nordschleife) and back via Spa later next year so will see plenty of that area, would probably be a little too far for a 2 day trip tough.

It's only £30 on the chunnel for a 2 day trip and it'll be my first time riding in Europe so I thought a nice quick trip will give me a taste of foreign roads before buggering off for a week in another country!

I did look at going down to Rouen and Le Havre but the roads near Spa look a little better. I know Normandy is meant to be pretty decent too.

I may still do a much shorter journey, less miles - and visit a couple of touristy towns in the area, stop at a french patisserie for some lunch etc. :D

The bikers in Europe are really friendly, you'll find quite a few bikers stopping by or waving to see if everything is ok even if you are just stopping to take a rest or check the map/gps. That's what my instructor said anyways, I haven't ridden in Europe yet. I was only stuck in the UK for couple hours, before a foreign Czech trucker stopped and charged my phone just enough so I could text my dad. :p

You've a Honda, so you'll be fine... its not KTM. :D

They do that in the UK too though, but maybe only in the decent parts :p

The only time a biker checked with me if everything is ok, was where I live. whilst I was stuck for couple hours on the side, 50-60 miles away from home on a dual carriage way somewhere near London no biker even checked with me.

Although 48 bikers is not the whole community, so it could have just been that part... Yep, I was so bored, I actually counted. :p

There's your problem, it's a souless hole :p:D

I've stopped for a few bikes, a guy pushing a old GXSR down a DC which had cut out, and a fireblade with new levers which had it's front brake locked on.

I also stopped and helped out when a guy got knocked off filtering 500m in front of me, didn't see the accident but got there 30 seconds after. He wasn't badly hurt, just some aches I think.

If I see someone stopped I'll make sure they're ok, the fireblade guy I even turned around for (was just down the road from my home), as it could just be a case of no petrol and a back lift to the fuel station can save them hours of waiting.

I always stop, once a guy on blue ZX7R was on a side, stopped had a chat. He just stopped for a smoke coming back from work. The other time was a teen on a 50cc 2T, the bike was choking/cutting off, like it had no power, it was the spark plug which was all black. New spark plug got him back home. The good thing is, I had my tools with me. :p Easy fix, but he could have been stuck there for as long, as I was. He was most likely running too rich, I always had a problem with adjusting the carb on my moped everytime I changed something e.g. filter or exhaust.

I remember stopping for one chap with a 125 fuel was gushing out all over the grass verge I said are you OK? He said yeah my wife is coming with some petrol,I filled it up with diesel n im draining it off haha

lol... How do people do that? : o

Edit lol

Get yourself further north/west.

Can't believe this Mild weather & reckon a Xmas day ride will be Awesome, Minimal traffic on the road & about 15c, Can't think of a better Xmas present to myself

Done some checking and it could be that it's a problem with the fuel pump

you aint having much luck mowy:( could be fuel pump yeah, mine just died suddenly though it wasn't intermittent

if it was doing it in the ****ing down rain I would have guessed at ignition leads or coil shorting? but those are usually well shielded from the rain

(if its still on the original pump you did well mine went long before your mileage around 34k I think mine packed up)
