What did you do to your bike today?

You can get a 55litre top box on any bike. The rack and arms are only £100 and then just keep your eye out for a cheaper older box someone is selling. The box are transferable obviously so you can use it when you change bikes. You wouldn't even need a tank bag and that can go on your CB400.

I'm not a fan of huge top boxes, plus all the CB400 fitting kits I've seen are ugly as hell - there's nowhere to put a top box plate as standard on them. I'd rather have soft luggage for the CB400 that just leaves 4 little loops under the seat.

A friend bought me a frank Thomas leather out of the heart foundation about 15 years ago was like new for £10 quid.

There was a his and hers matching pair his misses at the time had the other for another tenner.

Looking at alpinestar leather jackets, £399 for the one i want

Mine was £499 reduced to £249 (IIRC) as it was last seasons at my local bike shop.

Might be worth checking out in store to see what they have in the back section. Nothing I own is current season as I cannot justify spending quite so much. It was all brand new of course but there are bargains out there. I got my 2014 Alpinestars Supertech R Boots for less than a pair of S-MX6 Plus boots. Over £100 off

it was lashing it down today,i had to do some last minute shopping yet strangely I enjoyed it:eek: bike felt great and the grip too considering the rain was biblical

anyone else like riding in the rain? esp when its mild weather atm

I don't mind riding in the rain, and I don't mind riding in the dark. Raining when it's dark? can't see a friggin thing!!!

Even in tonight's heavy rain, no issues at all from the Angel GT's, even though my rear has probably only 1000 miles left on it, not a problem.

I saw one at £249, £329 and £399, if i'm honest i couldn't see a big difference between all 3 when just looking at the jacket, all 3 had CE armor, it's just some can be removed and others can't, i don't think that warrants an almost £200 increase!

I couldn't tell you the difference myself. I went for the cheaper one when buying leathers as it was just a much better fit. The more expensive jacket did have more breathability but I just unzip neck a few inches and its fine in summer

Why do they use stupid EU sizing and not normal S,M,L etc? I came home and checked online and forgot what size I had tried on and which one fitted best, finally remembered I'm an EU 52 so UK 42. :p

I traded the SV in for a CBR600F. The first 40 miles from Swindon where good (considering it was very wet)....until I lost all power on the A34. After an hour of getting blasted by trucks it started again and I got just short of Southampton on the M3...and yes it happened again.

No hard shoulder so the AA had to call the police and the traffic wombles. managed to get it going again and get it down the road to a petrol station where the AA looked at it and said it could be the carbs gunked up.

Going to have to wait for the place in Swindon to pick the bike up as their drivers are off until the new year now.....joy!

See problem with Honda, immediately think rectifier :p

Did it just die or splutter to a halt?

Completely overcooked an overtake this morning on the way to work and got far too close to an oncoming car for comfort, feel like a complete ****.

It might just be because there's less traffic, but I swear the number of drivers doing 20mph in a 40mph or just driving slow as hell has increased! Doris and Betty are out doing their Christmas shopping!

Anyone who rides a bike and overtakes has made that mistake I'm sure. I know I have.

Did the insurance on the CB400 last night for the year, £98 TPFT, £150 excess. :D Lovely jubbly. That's it taxed, MOT'ed and insured for another year. Just need a new rear tyre at some point in the next 4-6 weeks (if it ever wears out!) and that'll be the bike sorted for the rest of winter and most of next year.
