What did you do to your bike today?

All you shorties :p :D

Today, I put my textile kit in the wash. First time in over 2 years (first time ever for that kit) lol. Probably put them on and I'll wonder where the smell has gone.

I never washed my textile yet, it is 6 months old, but I use only 3 times per week and only for a 2 miles journey but I'm feeling the need to wash :p
For longer journeys I use my leather kit.
Probably I need to order some special detergent and a waterproofing spray.

Yeah I need to get some waterproofing wash or spray for mine as well. Getting a little leaky, but then I'm not sure if that's a gap somewhere or actual leaking waterproof removable bit.

Haha, my textile kit gets washed when it rains! But then I never wear it next to the skin, I always wear jeans and at least a t-shirt and thicker top underneath.

Plus I only wear it once or twice every few weeks, most days it's kevlar jeans and leather jacket.

It was completely dead today at work so did some ebay bike window shopping - why oh why isn't there any bikes like the multistrada/S1000xr/KTM 1290 Superduke GT but with 600-800cc engines and 100-130bhp, and around £8-10k brand new? If you want a 100bhp upright sport/adventure sport tourer you're stuck with the Yamaha tracer (nice bike, but looks so cheap), or stuff like the Versys 650.... (£5700 for a 2015 model with 1500 miles, so dirt cheap, but... Zzzzzzz) and tiger 800 (the tiger sport needs replacing, how old is it now?) all of which leave me completely limp and going...meh.

There's the MV Turismo Veloce but zero dealer support round here.

At this rate I'll end up saving up for an extra 6 months and buying a Multistrada Pikes Peak '13/14 or KTM 1290 Superduke GT but I don't need 150bhp, let alone 175bhp!!! I'd love to pick something up for around £6-8k but there's nothing out there that interests me, and normal naked bikes are just too compromised for carrying 70+ litres of soft luggage. yeah it'll fir on the back but comfort will be affected, nothing worse than having a bag mounted right up against your back so much so that you can't sit properly upright or move about a bit.

Edit: Monster 821 with luggage. Lol. No, just no...

I've never washed mine to be honest in 3.5years, never occurred to be much like a walking jacket, the rain cleans it much like my bike :p

Mines 5days a week for over an hour each day. Normal jeans and a T-shirt underneath though so its only dirty not smelly.

Might do it over Christmas.

That was my thought. Really I could have got away with just washing the liners as the thermal one touches just my arms, the actual jacket doesn't.

Checked my exhaust damage in the light this morning and luckily it's not quite as bad as I feared once I'd taken the scratched off stuff off with my nail a little bit of polishing compound and maybe some very fine wet and dry should fix it up nicely.

Also just upgraded my Kriega kit, at the minute I've got 1 US20 and 2 US10s and I've now got 1 US30 and another US20 winging their way to me.
Now I just need to sell my spare US10 to make the  price not quite so bad.

Tagged some Sdoc100 gel cleaner on as well, gets good reviews and the bike is in need of a good clean. Hoping I'll get the chance when I'm "working from home" on Thursday before heading back to the parents.

I'll be going with that set up on my CB400 for next year until get a bike with hard panniers, 70l plus a 20l tank bag should be OK even when camping. What bike are you mounting it on? The US30 is a fair bit bigger than the US20, swallows a lot of kit!

That'll be mounted to my SV, the 20l wasn't too bad for a few days but meant I'd normally have to stick my R35 on my back as well for one or 2 bits so the US30 should do for most of my stuff.

I picked up the tank adaptor as well so if needs be I'll have 70l at the back, 10l on the tank and then 35l on my back. Should pretty much be able to move out using just the bike if I want :D

Just bought Tomtom Bandit 4K Action Cam, I really don't need it but it was so damn cheap and I'll probably want a better cam eventually and by then I won't be able to find one at this price.

Haha, yeah a rucksack and US30 isn't great as it means you can't sit back/upright. On my 3 days trip (camping) I have a US30 and an R30 and the tank bag, the US30 takes all my camping kit (sleeping bag, tent, roll mat plus a couple of other little bits) so all the other stuff goes in the rest of the bags, and some basic clothing, pair of shoes, and other normal bits filled up an R30 with ease.

You can also strap a 3rd bag to the top, so you could have the US70 combo and a US10/20 on top of the US30 :D

I'd never get my leg over to get on the thing :(:o:D

I need to learn how to balance on my left peg while I swing my leg over, that would make life much easier when I've got luggage on the bike.

It's easy, you just put your left foot on the footpeg first then you have the extra height - or you do the strange "leg through the gap" move :p

It's what all them short people with adventure bikes have to do all the time :D

This is why I'll end up with a bike with proper panniers, the multistrada has 58l panniers and add a small givi trekker top box and that's 100l without even braking a sweat. Will make 10 day+ camping trips down to the alps a lot easier than with soft luggage. And of course you can always strap on the US70 combo aswell in case you'er doing a round the world trip :D :p
