What did you do to your bike today?

fair enough then,if your used to that style of bike then it makes more sense to stick with it,i like the triples aswell they are a nice style

the r has brembo calipers which tbf on the road wont be any better than the non brembo ones, they come with ohlins suspension which is probably better, depends if you can bag one for the right money

Yeah that's what i have found so far, 2013 is when ABS came in as standard, but they change the exhaust from the twin set under the seats and changed to the bug eyed lights, if i save a little longer i'll be willing to spend around the £5k mark, maybe slightly higher if i find the right one. This for example is a great looking bike.

Then again i could come down in price and go pick something like this up tomorrow..

That's the speedy with brembos and ohlins, the street has radial nissins, the non R street has non radial nissins. I'd always go for a Street triple R, better resale value and they're a lot more desirable.

And I agree about a naked bike as a first, if you drop it there's less to replace, and no fairing will act as a licence saver, once over 70-80mph you feel the wind. It will feel as if your head is being ripped off over 80mph at first, but after a few months you don't notice it. I was coming home the other night and gave it the beans in a couple of gears onto a DC from a roundabout, looked down and I was doing, well, a very illegal speed... and was a little shocked haha I never normally do over 75-80 max on my bike :)

Yeah, i'm eager to get back onto the road, i just hate driving anywhere now after being on a bike :p

My neck muscles are going to take a battering haha, they'll soon adjust though! :p

I got it working :D

Very cold and yet it still started and idled at about 5-600rpm before warming up to 11-1200rpm.

I also went down the solid-state rectifier route which made a lot more room for the wires to fit.

It needs a good polishing :p

I've gone off the idea of a super sports now :p I'm going to test ride a 2012 Triumph street triple R in a few days :p

An excellent decision, it spanks the Speed too :D

Edit: The R offers nothing over the non-R from my test rides, and it has tacky red everywhere so I chose the non-R.

The brakes felt no different and I don't fiddle with the suspension as I'd only ruin it. Other than that, they're the same bike, and second hand the non-R offers much better value for money. New is a difficult choice though.

I bet you don't notice the small increase in BHP do you? 98 for the 675, 107 for the R version.

I won't be buying new, if i was i'd be buying a Daytona :p

For my year at least the power is identical. There are no internal differences in the engine. Every part and every setting is interchangeable between th enon-R and the R.

Tried some carbon wrapping..

It didnt come out to well :(

What's it like to clean? Would you have another white one?

Very easy to clean actually, but white does show up crap very quickly when it rains or the farmers take their cows for walkies on the mountain roads.

I love the white, but I'd seriously consider the matte gunmetal grey or green if I was to purchase again.

Still give a few a test ride ;) you might be persuaded back.

My first real bike was the supersports bike. I can only think of 2 times I wish I didn't have it.

First time was in London when I took a wrong turn and ended up going down a cobbled road so every joint I had took a pounding.

Second time was about 2 minutes later when it came to a dead end and I couldn't do a turn in the road due to the turning circle haha.

Otherwise I have loved every moment of ownership :)

Depends what your riding is going to be. If you're using it to commute in traffic I'd take a naked all the time. And they're still fun on the weekend too but realistically most people ride during the week and comfort and visibility of a make helps.
