What did you do to your bike today?

Just had a play with my new Givi XS307 tank bag that I bought with a voucher I got for Christmas. It's awesome! The attachment flange doesn't look very nice on the bike, but I'll only be using it for longer day trips and Scotland next year and it doesn't take long to put on. Going to be so good stuffing it full of Red Bull rather than putting them in my pockets :p

Just be careful how much weight you put in that tank bag.

Just out of curiosity, why'd you say this? I ask because I've picked up a tail bag and am planning on putting my almax 3 chain in there and locks, so approx 10 kg or so...

Also, I happened to come across this:

I know such kits are not road legal in the UK, so I'd never dream of installing one... but out of curiosity, what are the different HID types? Would the H4 BiXenon bulb be best?

A friend has one and it's a little unstable at the mount when full as the bag's base is slightly flexible. It also presses on his tank causing scratches when it is close to capacity, which is the main thing putting me off getting one.

Hmm... I'll see how it goes. I'll keep that in mind though, thanks. I'll just keep it to light/important stuff. I got it to basically put everything I carried in my pockets last time in Scotland and to have something I can just lift off the bike which contains valuables, which isn't that much at all.

They are amazing quality if you do end up getting one. Well worth the money (got mine with Amazon vouchers I got given, so that was nice!).

From what you've said now though, I'd avoid the bigger XS306 (25L) and stick to the 307 or maybe even smaller.

You can even get little hard case ones which are 10L I think if you're just after something for wallet, phone, etc.

I also love how it has a cable port out the back, so my charging stuff can sit in the top of the tank bag :D. Works perfectly for me as my battery is at the front of the tank, so that can be run directly in to the bag. Scotland is going to be so awesome in the summer!

You'll be fine with the kriega tail bags, they're built like a tank. No problem at all with god-knows how many kg of camping stuff/clothes/water etc etc.

Strap it down as hard as it'll go, then give it another yank. So long as you mount the straps under the seat right, they ain't going anywhere.

As above, with Kriega tail packs, you'll be fine. I sometimes carry my Almax 3 in my US10 and as long as you strap it down tight then it'll be ok.

I'll also be getting the US70 setup soon :D

I had silly weight in my kriega us70 setup on my way home after Christmas at my parents and it was solid I'd have no worries packing it out even more.

Put a new RHS wing mirror on...one that actually has a mirror in the arm!

I have a fuel pump relay and fuel filter sat on my desk ready. Fuel pump will be here tomorrow. Hopefully this will put an end to the bike stalling and me being unable to start it for an hour or so.

When she is running properly I will pop a picture up

Still give a few a test ride ;) you might be persuaded back.

My first real bike was the supersports bike. I can only think of 2 times I wish I didn't have it.

First time was in London when I took a wrong turn and ended up going down a cobbled road so every joint I had took a pounding.

Second time was about 2 minutes later when it came to a dead end and I couldn't do a turn in the road due to the turning circle haha.

Otherwise I have loved every moment of ownership :)

I'll still test ride some, i won't be buying for another 2-3 weeks yet, waiting for the weather to sort it self out, has been raining everyday here since before Christmas day :(

You got the one with the magnetic strips or the straps that go around the bar?

Edit: just seen it attaches to the tank with a bracket.
