What did you do to your bike today?

Depends how much you want to spend, if you have plenty of dosh free, then one of these:

My driveway is a long drive and narrow one (2.5x car length and 1x car width) with a car part over the bottom half, and it's wide enough to take one of those garages with 3-4ft left to get access to the garden. When I get a 2nd nice bike for touring/summer use I'll be putting one of these up. It's a lot, but we're in a rented place so can't just build a garage, and if I ever need to sell it'd be easy to get at least half my money back. Plus when you're spending £10k on a bike, another £1k isn't that much of a big deal.

They (should) be classed as a garage by insurers (but check, obviously) and it's a lot more secure than just a ground anchor, and you can fit a ground anchor into it.

Ordered a new chain and sprocket kit and a new rear tyre, both getting towards the end of their lives.

I ordered a heated jacket for my bike too and it came the other day, along with my heated grips i'm nice and warm for the first winter in 7 years :D

As Wazza says it'll be your age, once you hit 24 it'll drop as you are then legally considered to be a "properly" unrestricted biker. Same deal with cars, 18 is expensive, 20 it gets cheaper and its not until 24/25 or so that you aren't considered a boy racer any more..

Yeah i'm aware :( Though to be honest I'm not fussed paying £3-400 insurance for a year. It still seems cheap to me, in comparison to my car which is £1000 (first year of having a car so no no claims as of yet)

£4-500 TPFT is expensive to me, fully comp around £500 is fine, but sod having an excess over £250! :D

I don't mind paying under £100 a year for my insurance :)

I pulled up alongside a bike tonight on the way home, I was surprised to see it was an MV Agusta Brutale Dragster! Just the standard one, not the RR, had a chat and he was putting some miles on it before putting it away for the winter, obviously brand spanking new, probably trying to get the first service done. Looks great, what I could see of it. Should have asked what dealer he used as the turismo veloce looks like a great bike but no dealers round here :(

There's a few other 2013 street triple R's with 10-15k miles for just over £5k, so nope - looks about right. It's almost a 2012 bike though registered in march or january, so out of warranty.

Winter, just after xmas, not many people buying bikes hence the price is probably £500-1000 lower than normal.

Hmm suppose so, condition wise going by photos I'm not going to find better, unless I buy from the show room.

It's just slightly out of my budget and I reckon by the time I've got the rest it'll be gone.

I have a pair of part worn Bridgestone T30R tyres in my garage that came off my S1000XR last year, I was supposed to put them back on before selling it. I replaced them with PR4's as the rear had 3mm left on the centre and thought I'd be pushing my luck going down to Italy and back.

Only thing is they are 120/70 R 17 and 190/55 R 17. You're welcome to them if it gets you out of trouble for a month or two. Let me know if they're anygood to you, no worries if not :)

Nothing to the bike but did get a new mirrored pinlock visor. There's less tint than the photo suggests - just need to hope for some bright days!

Is that just your biased opinion or is the speed really not as good?

He's biased cos he can't handle the Speed :p

You can't really compare them apart from being a similar styled naked bike, they are very different bikes and I love both. The Speed has super sports type power, a 1050cc engine and is a lot more comfortable (for me)
