What did you do to your bike today?

.

I've rebuilt the engine (all new bearings and seals, re-bore and new piston required as the bore was full of water), rebuilt the wheels with new spokes and rims, sourced a new (old stock) tank as the original was like a collander, and had the frame blasted and primed. I need to paint the frame, but as it's supposed to be the same metallic blue as the tank, I'll probably ship that out to get a nice job done.

If anyone knows of a half tidy seat (or just the base) for a B100P or B120, let me know. They just don't seem to exist, so might have to modify one from an A100 to fit.

B120 was the second ever bike I owned used off road before I was old enough to ride.

I bought the bike for £25 pounds off some travelers hehe brings back some memories.

I begged my mummy to lend me the money :D

Got the train into work today and looks like it'll be that way until Friday with the weather.
It costs me twice as much to use the train for one day as it does to ride a full week on the bike :(

Ouch :(

Weather is fine today though. A little cold, but no ice/snow (also in the West Midlands here). Supposed to be -4 tonight, but then no forecast rain so hopefully not too much ice on the roads.

I know that was the real kicker this morning, for the last 3 days it's been snow and ice in the mornings and they'd forecast it to be freezing again this morning. Got in the taxi to the station and the roads were absolutely fine :o

The next couple of days are looking pretty chilly with some light snow forecast though.

This is the first day for nearly a week I've been able to ride in due to the ice. I nearly didn't take the bike though, as when I was turning it around in the garden, it suddenly cut out.

I couldn't get it to start, put the charger on it, no luck... turned out I'd knocked the kill switch without noticing :D 25 mins wasted worrying the bike had died.

The route in was 'interesting' too. There was a trail of diesel on the road for the entire 5 mile stretch(!)

I ordered a tank bag from Motorrad in Germany last week (cheaper than the UK). The transaction failed the first time and then went through the next time. I've only been charged once and, hey presto, look what turns up today :D

Just bought myself a set of Chinese copies of the Rizoma Tomok mirrors $29.99 for the pair, much more palatable than £222

Fit some throttle spacers to take up the slop/slack in the throttle where it does nothing for a couple of mm when you twist it.

Feels great now, much easier to get away and to blip the throttle without having to take up the slack first.

Some people have done that but I prefer the more elegant solution and it is easily reversible if I ever want to.

Plus the last thing I would want is something I modify to fail and get a stuck throttle!

£11,500, 140bhp and 192kg dry weight for the new Speed triple R.

£10,200 for the S version.

If they were a little more touring friendly I'd be up for a brand new speed triple R (yes craig I know you can fit a US70 set up on the back seat ;) :p)

Speaking of scooters I was behind a 125 scooter on a bendy country road and the guy was putting his left or right foot down for corners, hovering very close to the ground. Is this a legit scooter technique or was he being silly?
