What did you do to your bike today?

nice, looks lovely mate :)

I would never have another bike with an alarm though. I had the Datatool S4 on my 10R and if I had kept the bike it would have been ripped out this year. It does your head in after a while and drains the battery.

I rode it to a dealer where I spent some time looking at various bikes trying to decided what I am going to buy at the end of the month.

There was a nice looking Aprilia Shiver 750, red and black, but as much as I do like the angular lines, it's not a bike I am considering.

I've stripped off the old (failed) control unit for my Oxford heated grips, now ready for the updated replacement sometime tomorrow. I had other little jobs on my step dad's mk1 Focus to do, so unfortunately didn't get to finish it.....

O.K., O.K., so I took advantage of the weather & took it for a spin really :D

It was nice today. I actually felt a bit warm in my winter jacker, but I do think it'll just be a little too chilly to get my leather jacket out.

Calipers disconnected and yep looks like the lower pistons are whats causing the problem, after a good clean they dont look too bad at all but when pumping the top pistons pop out a lot quicker and further before the bottom ones start :/

Teach ya to clean it a bit more :D Stick them into a hot bucket of washing soda overnight then refurb them. Itll break down the tough crap on them.

The honda monoblocks or yam yellow spots meant to be the ticket too

Gave it a good wash, then rode it, finding it really difficult to fully commit on corners though as there's a layer of powder down the middle of the roads, presumably crushed grit. Had no problems but confidence isn't there

The roads around here are very greasy. Been using the GS to commute to Leeds on this week and have had a few squirrelly moments pulling out of junctions. Needs a good downpour to clean the crap off the roads now

Put a new air filter in it, there was a nice layer of stagnant water in the bottom of the air box and collector tube, and then checked the the new spark plug which looks ok. Will take it out and see if this improves things.
I had a look at the old spark which i've just seen is iridium (cr6hix), if things do not improve it may have been that difference.

[edit] Went to Lewes and back (6/7 miles each way) and it's running as normal :)
Next thing on the list - learn how to adjust the chain.

I know, sucks not having a garage anymore :(
And I still made sure I cleaned them at least every 2 weeks, the daily commute has taken its toll on them though...

I have had a look at the honda monoblocks, they arent that common though on eBay, and more expensive than the Yamaha's, do you know if they are all the same, I have found some 2011 CBR600RR monoblocks and apparently they are the same...
Same again with the yellow spots, I had them on my 750 and they were brilliant, but none available for a good price but I can get a silver spot set for £100 and a quick google they are the same as the yellow spots too.
Prefer the yellow spots but might have to get the silvers if none come up soon as I want my brakes in top condition before April track day...

my ZZR6, has been tucked up in my garage since November. Although admittedly I have taken it out for a spin at least once or twice a month during that time just to keep the juices flowing.

however, with the improving light (both in the morning and evening), and warmer dryer conditions, I'm getting ready to ditch the car and commute to work on my bike. So last weekend I took the bike out, changed the ScottOiler, gave the chain a good degrease; changed the air filter, oil flter, plugs and engine oil.

took it for a 50 mile spin on a mix of A roads, country roads and motorways. Felt pretty smooth, although I could tell it was a tad sluggish accelerating on the m/ways. So will probably take it to my local bike garage for a check on the transmission, callipers etc.

Can't wait to get back on 2 wheels again :)

Not on the bike but bikey, ordered myself a voice recorder the other day to do vlogs etc on the bike, of course I didn't think that the one I ordered cant be connected to a PC.

DOH.

Oh well I guess I have a voice recorder now.

Anyone link to a voice recorder they use if they vlog?
