What did you do to your bike today?

Are you fitting it yourself Clovis? The return spring on them are very tough to fit

I'll give it a go! How hard can it be? :p

Haha yes, sidestand/centrestand springs are interesting :p

Do you mean a paddock stand Clovis? I'd rather have one of those over a centre stand any day.

Hahaha I know the difference between a paddock stand and a centre stand :D I have a paddock stand already, I've bought the centre stand for when it's parked up at night when I'm working, work space is tight so I can have it up right rather than leant over on the side stand. :)

Those are the puppies you want ;):D

The going rate seems to be £300-400, well worth it IMO. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=triumph%20arrow%20street%20triple&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684 I'd be waiting for the right pair to pop up at the right price - there's no rush, enjoy the standard pipes for a little while :)

Firstly I need some new mirrors, it's a right pain with the original mirrors getting through my gate, they are just too big.

Also my battery was dead this morning, turned on ok just wouldn't start, I seem to have bad luck with batteries.

have you got any accessories cabled in directly to the battery?

Just an optimate charger, I charged it for 10 minutes and it turned over, just not enough kick to start the bike, will leave it overnight as I'm going to work now and can't do much more with it. Doesn't help with how cold it's been either.

No way you can keep the optimate hooked up when you're not riding it?
I've got an extension lead trailed out to mine then my oxford charger in a waterproof box designed to keep sockets dry for when it's freezing and I'm not going to be using the bike every day.

I shall be leaving it plugged in from now on, I've got power outside just didn't think it needed charging, I'm using my cheap trickle charger at the moment, as I've already got the optimate attachment fitted to the battery, does it matter which charger I buy? There seems to be 4 versions and I'm not sure which one to get. There's no info on the attachment telling me what version it was.

Take the lead off and ask in a localbike shop, they will know which charger its off,or ask the previous owner if you can?

The old style white optimate connector and the connector on my oxford optimiser are the same but like I said they all come with a permanent battery lead anyway so if it's not the right one it's a 2 minute job to whip the old one off and connect the new one.

I sometimes feel like the only biker in the world who's never paid any attention to his battery, including over winter, and the bike just starts every time. I'm on my fifth bike now and I've never charged the battery in any of them.

I don't charge or really care for mine. But then again it's used all the time. The longest it's sat for is probably 48 hours

I thought i was having battery issues.. turned out to be a seized bearing in thr starter motor.

Try 12v straight into the starter via red and black to earth. See how easily the starter turns over. If fine.. test the starter relay and cables. Then test revtifier to ground to see if any leaks and then lastly the battery.

Or is the battery reading below 12.4?

This is paranoia speaking, but I turn off my outside power at night or when I'm out. I've read about bike thieves using the owners outside/garage plugs to power a small hand angle grinding to get through chains.

After having one bike stolen, I take no chances :p.

I borrowed my mates Battery powered Angle Grinder to cut through a chain of mine, It went through it in 1 second like it was Butter, Sleep well. :p

As for that Rigid cover I quite fancy summit like that so let me know if you get one as I want a Personal review before shelling out that much for a cover.
I've had all my bikes (1 at a time :D) under an Oxford Rainex & it's been Mint, Cost me 85 quid but they are on offer at Amazon for less than 50 at the mo.

I got an Oxford Stormex for £20 in the Hein Gericke sale last month, bargain!
Although it is more of a pain in the backside to get on and off than my old aquatex cover but is actually waterproof.
