What did you do to your bike today?

Those were the days... now everything just feels slow in comparison to a litre sportsbike!

125... SV650 restricted.... SV unrestricted.... GSXR 750...! ..... Street Triple - step backwards but addictive noise....GSXR 1000....and to think new production litre bikes have 20 more hp over mine, but I'm fairly sure they are lacking the mid range of the K5, more top end power, and I don't even use the top end of mine so its irrelevant :p

Cleaned it, lubed it, acf50'd it and changed my rear pads, packed anything that should slide with silicone grease and bled them.

Good plan, the last mm or so of rubber can disappear surprisingly quickly on rear tyres. You can go from "must replace that soon" to "omg, carcass is showing" in literally a few hundred miles.

Exactly, my commute is nearly 200 miles and I can only get it fitted at the weekend so better to be safe than sorry. A good 80 mile round trip into London should scrub it in a bit.

Nice one mate

3 weeks of owning my hornet and for the first time today , opened her up passed 8k revs, and the power is immense:eek:

What's the BHP of the hornet? Is it the same as the cb650f? So around 86?

Just searched, 100bhp, wasn't aware it was that high!

Going to buy a dirt bike!

Getting a hitch for the car, then a trailer, then find myself a 250 dirt bike for the local offroad area.

Looking forward to it

this,600cc is utter poo when you come off a 1 litre sportsbike, its like omg its got no power at all but then you get used to it again:p

I think it depends on the bike and the type of engine / power delivery.

130 bhp on my Aprilia Caponord felt lethargic at times, especially when fully laden with luggage. It is a heavy bike.

160 bhp on my S1000XR feels great though, but I wouldn't want any less unless there was more torque available lower down.

Going from the SV650s to the CBR600Ffelt great to begin with. OMG!!!! POWER!!! and a better rev range...except there is no guts below 5K revs.

Starting to get used to the pull of it now, just not how quickly you pick up speed. From 2nd gear to open it up, up the revs, then to 3rd and up the revs again. Easy 3 figure speeds (on my massive driveway officer)

Nice, pictures? :D

Here you go :)

Yep. I came from for a restricted 33bhp bandit in 2009 to the hornet after a 6 year break so naturally going to feel a lot more power :)

I didn't wanted a fully faired bike, maybe on my next bike but very happy with the hornet for now

How's your battery holding up?

It's back on charge now, I've been working late shift this week so haven't had time to mess about much, only managed a quick ride before work this morning, tomorrow i'm having a full day out on it.

Clean & tidy, couple scratches on the front. But that's nothing for a 20 year old bike, as long as it has its original paintwork its all good. ;)

My friend has that CBR, he's is on around 62k miles and apart from topping up his oil every 1800 miles he doesn't have any issues with it. :D

@clovis watch how far you travel out on it just incase the rectifier is playing up,it will just drain your battery, upto you though just saying
