What did you do to your bike today?

Clean & tidy, couple scratches on the front. But that's nothing for a 20 year old bike, as long as it has its original paintwork its all good. ;)

My friend has that CBR, he's is on around 62k miles and apart from topping up his oil every 1800 miles he doesn't have any issues with it. :D

Under the panels isnt so good as prev owners haven't cared for it. Doing what I can though

Fitted new EBC HH brake pads... they work but don't feel any different to stock right now, will give it some time though.

Also fitted a K&N air filter, sounds uber but not sure how much power difference it's making.

Also tightened the chain, quickshifter works better now

Fitted my optimate charger just now, checked the battery before disconnecting and with the engine running, I got a reading of 14.31 volt and it didn't move. :)

Today I mostly caressed and stroked it.

I love pure carnauba wax :D

Yeah when I went to see it I knew it was for me. It was owned by a mechanic and also had my friend who knows much more than me to look over it and it looked great. Only downfall is the MOT runs out next month but it should get through easily enough. Other then the odd scratch, as to be expected for a bike that's 10 years old, it's in very good condition. Only had 13700 miles too

That's off of there now. A standard one is on now but I might buy a smaller one.

I'm a bit nervous to ride it but I was so excited to see it lol

Sat on it and heard it but not ridden it as didn't have the cash with me. It's a bit low but the person who had it before me had the seat lowered and will give me the stuff to put it back to the right height.

The front end is much wider then I was expecting but in a good way. I was also expecting the seating position to be much more extreme than it actually was. Weather looks good on Monday so I'll give it an extended ride home and maybe a 20 mile route I have in my mind

First proper road bike. I've ridden scramblers and pit bikes in fields or mini-motos in car parks but this is my first proper bike. I know I should've picked something more sensible but there was nothing else that I looked at and thought "I really want that". I'm content with looking like a fanny riding one slow for however long it takes before I even get close to the power band.

Yeah the car style plate looked pretty awful I thought. What's the small size you often see people with on their bikes? It feels much lighter than the CBF600 I was doing my training on. That thing was pretty weighty and I think this R6 is best part of 40KG lighter!

Any tips would be welcome :)

Tell me about it... :o :(

If you trust yourself, I don't see a problem. You'll eventually open it up though, its a matter or weeks. :D No point in buying a bike you don't want, just because others said R6 was a bad choice, ride whatever you want. ;)
