What did you do to your bike today?

pain in the backside isn't it .
had to do mine when I got the bike

It is especially as you can't really get a feel for the changes until you've given it some around town and higher speed riding.

I've got a feeling the last time I had it off I put it back on slightly too high so I was really having to focus on getting it past neutral which I'd always mess up and those exact moments I didn't want to be reving the nuts off it :o

Seems spot on now though just a quick little flick and I'm away.

Oh :p yeah some of them do feel a bit wrong. Kept meaning to sort them on my Hornet as I would have to move my leg about to shift rather than just keeping my heel in the same place and shifting.

Rear brake lever is next on my list, could do with sitting just a touch lower so like you I don't have to adjust my whole leg quite so much to use it.

Just popped into the garage to check on my bike, wheel bearings weren't gone, the back wheel was loose. Makes me wonder if I should trust the work they are doing now.

That same garage gave your bike back with the wheel loose? New garage time.

The bike is still there, waiting for the fork seals to be delivered, when I went in he told me the bearings didn't need changing as it was the wheel at fault so he's fixed that now, should get it back tomorrow if the seals arrive today.

I do everything on my bikes, I have only taken bikes to a garage twice.
once was my first road bike(back in 1981) that I had spent a week trying to fix a misfire and the other was the first free service on my new cbr6 back in 1995.
I just don't trust anyone to do the work correctly.

I also do about 80% of the work on the car, it only goes in when its a big-ish job and I can leave it there in the day while I'm a sleep after a night shift.
i check everything they do and have found, nuts lose etc a few times

Oh ok, at least he was honest & didn't charge you for bearings anyway.

I'm confused what difference does it make if it's still loose while it's sat in the garage as long as it's all done up when they hand it back to you?

Meh fork leg is ******. Guy at the shop couldn't get the seal out.

He said he's drilled them before, a little hole next to the seal, so you can then tap the seal out, but that runs the risk of it leaking through that hole then if he drills too low.

He recommended I try find a 2nd hand one.

Rode this home from the Garage for a mate

Twin Termignoni Cans tested at 120db! frighteningly loud

first ever ride on a sports bike so naturally crapping myself

mirrors are useless, my legs roasted from the engine/exhaust heat

sitting positioning was quite good, you just automatically sink in and grab the tank, Brembo brakes are  superb!

lighter than my 2004 Hornet

didnt really open her up, enjoyed it though (20 min ride home), would I have one my self? probably not.

Bought a few things:

- rear brake disk and pads. Disk is slightly warped
- Exhaust gaskets
- Very high temp black paint, for the downpipes after cleaning them up
- Chain and sprockets

Just need to get a drive feed I think he called it. Will have to look at the MOT advisory
