What did you do to your bike today?

I finally got the baffle out. I ended up having to use a rotary file drill bit to grind the thing out. It damaged the baffle, but got the nut out and the exhaust is undamaged. The place that sold me the exhaust is selling me a new baffle at cost price.

The issue is, it's now way too loud. Literally hurt your ears loud, and that's just at idle(!)

Here's a vid of it:

It doesn't actually capture the deep booming sound it now makes.

We had a couple of quads come along to the last ride out I went to and even following them a decent distance behind the noise was mental when they opened it up even my ears hurt, I don't know how they can ride them with no ear plugs or even a helmet to deaden the sound a bit.

@Jingo don't they sell shorter baffles for it? Then you can fine tune the sound? Or cut the end off the damaged one till it sounds right and keep the new one they send you for spare

I just took it for a ride around Brum, and cars actually stayed back from me! :D Also, gearing down to engine break would produce loads of pops. My ears are ringing, but it was a lot of fun.

I took it through some tunnels and another bike was having a rev bomb battle with me :D I'll try and youtube it.

I'll definitely have to modify a baffle tbh or wear ear plugs. Also, it seemed to be a bit more "juddery" in first at slow speeds.

Earplugs. TBH I'd suggest wearing them anyway, you can't get your hearing back :)

And yep it really does make a difference to cars seeing/hearing you! I couldn't ride my bike over 40mph for anymore than a few minutes without earplugs, too loud.

Just purchased a second hand Ohlins steering damper for the Aprilia, its pretty much mint :D

Everything Ohlins makes is a thing of beauty. Nice!

Here's a few bits from footage I took earlier today, after I took the baffle out:

The sound doesn't do it justice - but you can hear me giggling like a girl man :D

Sounds like it should do tbh ;)

Swapped my lower left hand fairing for a better condition one. Decided im going to strip the stickers and decals off the old one, spray it and mount it on the living room wall :D

Ordered some Motul 5.1 brake fluid and a brake bleeder for the R6, brakes don't feel good enough

I'm still wondering whenever my brakes need bleeding or whenever the SV brakes are just so crap. From my tiny Google research it looks like it could be both, more likely the brakes are just crap; I'm not the only one complaining. :o

That Ohlins damper looks like new, so shiny. :D

Same brakes on my bike I think. They're not great..

The brakes are crap. braided hoses go some way to fixing apparently. Best fix is to swap for GSXR calipers etc

Are they only twin piston jobbies? If so then it'll be the calipers, not a a lot of stopping power. Get some proper 4 piston calipers and they'll be loads better.

My brakes should be good, they are reasonable, just lacking bite and overall feel on hard braking. May as well try for $8 for fluid and $30 for bleeder
