What did you do to your bike today?

Get that baffle out, let that engine roar... those pops and flames are being held in by that thing inside.

It does roar anyway, yes I know I can make it much louder but quite happy with it at the mo, if I want flames I've got chain lube and a lighter;)

Went up to Scotland for the weekend for a ride out with some family. I've been thinking of changing my S1000RR for something more comfortable as I'm doing more and more miles these days and the bike is currently my only source of transport. Currently at 28k miles, 26k of those I've put on. The ride up to Scotland was going to be something of a last goodbye for the bike. But after taking in the perfect windy roads of the Scottish countryside, I decided I just couldn't bring myself to sell it. I came back from the trip, cleaned her up, and bought some rear brake pads which I'll fit next weekend.

Here's a pic, because, who doesn't like a bike pic:

We need mooooaaar! :D Best paint job available, 2nd best is the baby blue IMHO. I really don't like the new gen S1000RR, this gen looks so much better... the new one lost that aggressive front look. :o

I've always missed the sound of the SV under bridges...until today when I opened up the CBR in 1st under a motorway bridge

My god was it is beautiful sound! I'm assuming everyone else under the bridge at 06:45 thought the same :D

I used to love commuting from Birmingham city center purely because there were 2 good length tunnels to wake myself up with every morning.

I'm sure all the other commuters appreciated it as well because you'd have to be deaf not to!

Even now just scooting along A roads the induction roar is addictive and has scared more than 1 or 2 car drivers :D

Decided I needed a little more comfort for the longer days in the saddle, so bought the HP Sport seat.

That's one of the things I was going to invest in last year when I had my XR. After 10-12 hours in the saddle everyday arriving at our destination and thinking 'Why we stopping??' I figured I didn't need it!

Put a pic up of it on once you've installed it :)
You know the answer.... get a 2nd bike :D
..or a 3rd, 4th, 5th.... ;)

Took the misses out for her first go on a sportsbike over the bank holiday, she did pretty well actually, I'll have to get her some knee sliders!
Forgot how much pressure its puts on your under braking though with a pillion, its been a few years now since Ive taken a passenger! (someone brave? stupid enough to get on the back with me...)

The first response to your picture on FB being "Has Paul told you how many accidents he's had!?" did make me chuckle :D

Just clipped it on now. I was surprised how much lighter it was than the original.

Changed to shorty levers on my 636, Love the brake lever but I think i'll have to get used to the clutch feels weird only using 2/3 fingers on it.
Now I just need to adjust the shift lever for when i'm in boots, it's too low so I really have to dip my foot between upshifts which can be annoying.

Attempted to fit the panniers....

Doesn't fit with the indicators.... ****!! Now I need to solve it by Saturday morning.

I'm popping into a bike shop first thing tomorrow to see if they have any suitable replacement indicators. Otherwise I'll order some for next day delivery.

What's the ruling on indicators? They may be quite small.

Yeah that was never going to fit with those indicators! What bike and tail tidy is it? GSX650F? R&G Tail tidy?

Edit - if you remove your numberplate, how much space is there between the mounting plate where the indicators mount and the frame of the panniers?

I reckon if you get some tiny LED indicators they'll fit, and you can get a smaller plate (look at the space on the left and right between the letters and the edge of the plate!) which would allow you to see them.

Correct, GSX650F and R&G tail tidy.

Ahh, good eyes :D See my edit, measure how much space there is. Also, if your plate is a standard 8x6, measure how far a 7x5 would overhand the mounting points, i.e. how much of the indicator would be hidden by the numberplate if you had a 7x5.
