What did you do to your bike today?

Fitted my new shifter arm and new clutch release mech, it'll be interesting to see how shifting feels tomorrow considering how worn the old mech was.

My SV brakes felt unbelievable when I first got the bike and then at one point their effectiveness really dropped. Improved after a service but they're still not the same level that they once were. :(

Possibly the best £30 I've spent in terms of improving the bikes feel, shifting is now buttery smooth and solid the vagueness that was there is completely gone.

I don't know why there's so much hate for the SV brakes, they're obviously not going to set the world alight but keep them clean and they're absolutely fine considering the amount of engine braking you get from the twin.

I don't use the clutch to change gear :p

I looked like a courier today, got a few thumbs up and smiles when they saw me with this at the back of my bike. :p

Apart from that lubed the chain, put the baffle back in and tighten up the screws on the exhaust clamps.

Mine was almost that bad after a year. Replaced the front, should really do the back :p

Isn't it a 2 year service item? Seems a bit long to me if I'm remembering correctly.

The brakes are crap. braided hoses go some way to fixing apparently. Best fix is to swap for GSXR calipers etc

Are they only twin piston jobbies? If so then it'll be the calipers, not a a lot of stopping power. Get some proper 4 piston calipers and they'll be loads better.

One of the brilliant things about the Fazer is how good the brakes are as Yamaha just used the R1 calipers so it stops unbelievably well. On other bikes I've had that have been faster I haven't ridden as hard because I just didn't have the confidence in the brakes it's the complete opposite on my Fazer.

IC3 the Caliper upgrade is an easy one to do, The GSXR calipers new pads & braided hoses would make untold difference & would be well worth the time & expense. Having confidence in the front end & the front brakes I think is what gives the rider confidence to push on properly. :)

New tail tidy on the new MT09

Looks about a million times better, I hate those new plate/light holders. Not sure about those clear light lenses though but each to there own a. :)

Took my bike out for the first time in about a couple of weeks. For some reason went for a gear change on a hilly roundabout scrapped my foot on the ground and ruined my boots lol.

With some help I changed the rear brake piston and seals. Found that the mounting bolts are shafted as they arnt round anymore and have lost a few mm either side! This lets the caliper rock. Ordering some new bolts from wemoto as soon as they confirm they have them.
