What did you do to your bike today?

HH rated pads for street use should not require any significant amount of heat to make them work. I've used HH pads in every bike I've had since my SV650 and they've all given a significant improvement in initial bite and I've never had them suffer from fade (unlike organics!).

IIRC I used SBS sintered pads on my SV650.

Not at all in my own experience waste of money and not needed on most bikes.

Unless I've just jumped on the bike so the pads are ice cold and it's been peeing down I've never had a problem with them feeling a bit vague and needing to get heat into them, unless you go up to full on track ceramic type pads you shouldn't have an issue.

Then again like most things it's going to come down to personal preference and what you're used to until you're really pushing the limits.

I've been on a track day with them and couldn't really feel the difference, maybe they fade less, hard to tell, but after talking to my mechanic about them I'll stick to OEM. Obviously whatever works for you, it's not like it's that expensive so you could always try it out!

Try what out ?

Edit: sorry you are talking to some one else.

OEMs are fine.

think thers something dying in the bike.

not starting first time any more, and the headlights definitly change brightness when reving.

checked the battery 12.3v when off, 14.5v when at 5k rpm.

0 AC voltage across the terminals though.

so not sure if the reg rec is dying or not.

Check the alternator feed(s) to the reg/rec before replacing the R/R. Also check all your earth points

Edit: but yes standing voltage is low, exactly what mine is strangely

I was gonna say they looked like Yamaha calipers but I thought you had a Gixxer...:D

They are epic for standard brakes, only beaten when the 08 CBR1000RR monoblocs came out.

The best stock brakes I've ever used were on a Daytona, sadly european and jap caliper mounts are different :(

Exactly! Each time I change something on the bike, I put the tools on the side go for a quick spin and adjust to my liking. :p

I did a quick service, went a bit over the 3k miles service. But I couldn't find an appropriate time to do it. :D

Topped up my oil. Last weekend's spirited ride burnt a little off.

Asked my mate, if his burned oil too. His riding style is similar to mine, he said his burnt oil too. :p haha Its good that there's nothing wrong with the engine, I was worried for a bit. I have to top it up quite frequently, now I've emi synthetic so it should be a bit thicker?
