What did you do to your bike today?

Took my fuel cap off to clean all the gunk built up under it. Lucky I did as the bolts were rather stuck so smeared a healthy dollop of copper grease on them before they went back in.

Gave all the other bolts a general check over to make sure nothing was loose as well.

Took my bike to a Suzuki Dealer to do the 2nd service.
So far everything was good, only the chain slack was a bit over than it should, I've noticed before my trip to Scotland but since I was going to do the service when I get back I didn't bother, but now I know I should have done it before.

2000 miles to Eymoutiers and back with many rides in between.

And many clear night skies.

Haha a little, though I did it on an R6 last year :)

My back seems to have fared better this time. Stopping for fuel every 80 miles was a swine though!

City riding must be even worse then? I get 110-115 miles out the CBR in city. Never hit the reserve on motorways just in case, but I got to 125 miles before I filled up

Surprisingly it's seems better in the city, at constant high revs the dorso drinks petrol like it's going out of fashion!

2-3 miles should do it. They don't use a "releasing agent" on the tyres any more so once you've got rid of the chicken strips and had a heat cycle that should be it.

Are they inflated correctly?

The highest I managed in the triple was 142 miles and that was being careful, when I was being a hooligan I managed 92 miles to a full tank :p

You mean 2-300? There's no way can you wear a tyre in doing 3 miles :p

Nope, tyres don't need wearing in these days, and haven't for a good decade or so.

I've gotten almost 160 out of mine, normally 135-145 when the revs never go below 8k rpm in the mountains :D

If this is the case, i may fork out for some Pilot Road 4's before winter.

My local mechanic goes straight out and gets his knee down when he changes the tyres on my bike.

He gave me a telling off when I asked how long it takes to wear them in and says he's already done it :p

He seems to know what he's doing, he's the master mechanic at the local Triumph dealer so I trust him more than some randoms on the internet to be honest. He says a lot has changed with tyres over the last 35 years.

They don't have the suing culture here that they have in the USA/UK so they don't need to mother everyone by always giving them warnings and telling them to be careful.

They even let you jump off mountains with a parachute which most countries don't allow and effectively say it's your fault if you get hurt. Quite refreshing actually.
