What did you do to your bike today?

ave you tried making a sacrifice to the Electrical gods?

Feels like I might have to! Charge across the battery points is about 12.8v if it's good and indicators stop working above 3K revs. Think its damaged wires in the loom that carry the alternator charge

I've told her if she doesn't behave she is getting swapped for a push bike :p

Took the Goose for MOT this morning, first time it's turned a wheel in over two years and of course it was throwing it down. Almost lost the front on the first roundabout, brand new tyres plus rain equals brown trousers :( On the upside, passed with no advisories :D

Today I rode it like I stole it! After 2 bike trips, one with my daughter as Pillion in Ireland and then a week with my son on his 125 I was desperate to give it a thrash! Almost forgot how much fun the bike can be on the right roads!

Changed the oil in the KTM, it even has a sight glass for the oil... my R6 doesn't even have that lol.

Changing coolant tonight as it overheated on Sunday and plumed steam everywhere... it was 90f and I was trying to climb a hill at the time.

God the power... the front wheel doesn't stay down

Tried to fit the exhaust to the triumph and it was blowing slightly and wasn't happy. Kind of over did the clamp and broke it, so had to put the original exhaust back on till tomorrow pick up a new clamp and exhaust gasket seal.

I can't get the race baffle to fit, it looks like it needs bending slightly to line up the screw hole to keep the baffle in. Fell backwards and landed on looks to be a wood hole screw bit and landed on my left ass cheek.

All in all, had a really crappy evening :(

Nut splitters are almost completely useless, I tried one the first time I changed my rear sprocket and in the end just hammered a six sided socket onto the nuts and buzzed them with an impact gun. I reckon you might struggle to get the angle right with a grinder without damaging the sprocket to be honest.

On a side note while you've got the rear wheel out take the bolts out of your shock linkage and check the spacers for wear and give them a healthy covering in grease while you're there.

Got 'told off' by another biker for 'jumping a red light' (I didn't btw) which I found pretty funny as he went straight over at the lights from a right turn only lane.

Happy hump day!

I may be insulting your intelligence here and sorry if I am but it's always worth an ask.

The bolts which hold the sprocket to the sprocket carrier don't lock into place until they're pulled flush to the inside face of the carrier if that makes sense. Until then they will just spin as they're free.

If you've not taken the sprocket carrier off the wheel remove it and have a look and you'll see what I mean straight away.

Let me guess.. left one from the front cylinder? :p

Trick is, put vasaline around the coil on the front cylinder where the rubber boot meets top of engine cover. Stops water getting in.

Haha, yeah the left one is from the front. But both are pretty much black, the SV is so smooth now with new spark plugs. I should have changed them some time ago... :p It was a nice quick and easy job to do. :)

I got normal, my mate had problems with iridium whilst getting his bike dynod. It had better results on normal spark plugs than iridium, the mixture was a bit too rich and they didn't like it... misfiring. I don't mind it tbh, there's a massive difference. Even the throttle response is better. :)

It's on my list to do as well as I have no idea when they were last changed. That and a carb balance will hopefully make a world of difference
