What did you do to your bike today?

Not today bit a few days ago.....temp traffic lights just at the mouth of a road that goes under the M3. Got to the front, light change...GUN IT!! 1st gear has never sounded so good :D

Today, I decided to give my FireBlade to my mate.
Its been sat in my driveway for a while now, and a few months ago, my mates CBX750 needed a new tyre and he is skinty-poos and so he has had to take his CBX off the road.

He is planning on stripping his bike down and giving her a full reboot with all new blah-de-blahs including a full rebuild etc, and so I thought... Let him have my little put put to play about with.

I can no longer ride bikes now and I have a trike in teh driveway and another on the way, so why not eh?

Sad to see her go, but then she has to, or she will end up rotting away on my driveway.

Very kind of you sire.

Today i sold my R6, gutted to see her go, but excited about the replacement.

The Absolute least I can do. Since the accident, he is the ONLY person who has bent over backwards to help me and my family cope. I almost died, and should have, and he was there for us, always bringing the wife whenever she needed to come, and even now, he still drives me around wheneever I need him to.
He has moved to home now, and lives a few miles away, and so taking me out for a coffee has had to back off somewhat ( this is not a bad thing as I now have my mobility scooter ) but he still takes me to all my appointments etc, and I know that I can pick up the phone and he will be here.

He has proven himself to be a solid mate, and even when people I thought I could look to for support, have shown their true colours, he has always been there.

Probably cos the sod knows I am a gullible git... I bought him an RG125 box of bits when I heard that it was one of his fave bikes, and he has almost fully restored that now. I have given him his PC, which is an I7, and I have upgraded the hell out of it for him, and I also gave him a grand when he was skint last xmas and just to really be a complete show-off, I am going to give him another grand this year, cos I need him to know that he is a mate that I love absolutely dearly, and no, not like that either.

Quick story, but several years ago, I bought an SZR660 andI fell in love with this thing, but it always had carb issues.
Anyway, I was selling it off on ebay while I was in hospital a few months ago, and I kind of got confused, because I wanted 550 and so a guy said 500... I waited as I was too tired to reply for now, and then I saw in my emails later on 350... I said thats taking the P and then he said I only asked mate sorry.
And then later on, I got another email saying ok 550.
I then sent him an email with my mates address and phone number etc, and told him that Im in hospital etc...

couple of days later, my mate phoned me up and asked whats going on with the bike... I said 550 and he said that he offered 350 and then sent him the contact details and said its his????

Turns out there was 3 people asking about it and I gave the guy who offered 350 for it the contact details and the guy who was offering 550 was still waiting????

AAAAHHHHRGGGGHHHH!!!

Ok, my mistake, I said to let him have it, cos at least it will be out of my life then and 350 is better than nothing I suppose?

Anyway, when I had the bike I bought it from a guy, who was desperate for cash, and I got it for a bargain, and the poor guy was absolutely gutted to see it go... Guess who the guy was who got it back for only 350?

When I found out, I was quite happy, because I know I robbed him to get it, and he has robbed me to get it back, so its all good.

I just hope the sod realises how much money I have spend on that tart to tune the thing up.

Ok, longer than I should have done, but there you are!

Ditto,

Anyone got any experience with the S1000RR?

Yes I own the '15 Gen 3. It's a different bike to the previous 2 Gens.

I've done track days on it, commuted, done a few trips. You can make it as dull or as exciting as you want. Fit the dongle and select user mode it is anything but boring. Stick it in road mode, throw on the heated grips and cruise control and you have one of the best road bikes under you. The electronics package on it is a superb safety net. The semi active suspension, shift assist pro (up/down quickshifter) ABS, traction control and anti wheelie work all work and really help. Best part is it can all be disabled returning it to a raw experience. Downside is it's looks, they aren't for everyone.

When I first bought it I thought it was too easy to ride (I had been riding a K6 GSX-R 1000 for 5 years previously - zero rider aids), I had a chat with a BMW race engineer at the Tyco BMW Donington Park track day last year and he dialed in the settings for 'proper' track use, yeh... What a different animal. It's not got the ultimate track focus of say the R1-M or Panigale R/RSV4RF etc. but it's not far off and it outrides those on the roads easily.

I also own a '16 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory, that's full of character and a very different bike but equally brilliant. The BMW is a better road bike though IMO and just feels much more premium with better road manners. Typically German.

New intercom fitted today. Interphone F5MC, so bluetooth everything. Speakers are a bit tinny but they sell a Sound Pro upgrade although it is helmet specific and they don't have a kit for the Shoei XR1100. Not sure what other Shoei lids would have compatible speaker recesses though.

Mine must be about 4 years old now. It has recesses but they are slightly too far forward from my ideal position.

You copied me so I must have them too!
I didn't know you've that helmet, you were the one that send me the link to helmetcity with those on sale tho. My gear is all Black/white so it matches.

Although, I do regret not going for the GT Air, I don't quite like that XR... the fit is a bit different from a GT Air. :(

I didn't do anything to my bike today, but I did take a mighty 125cc scooter across the Hai Van Pass, following the same route as Top Gear. Huge fun!
