What did you do to your bike today?

Yeah it's good stuff, might make the chain look dirty though as more will stick to it.

My new sound recorder has just been delivered, I'll get a clip later on and see how it sounds.

Set out to give it a proper clean, do the chain and replace some old Suzuki special cheese fixings with some nice Ti bits.

Managed to clean the chain, fit the Ti bits, strip the clutch release worm drive clean it and pack it with fresh grease.

Then it got cold so I wrapped it back up and came inside. The dirt can stay all the important bits have been cleaned and greased this weekend.

Need a warm garage.

New round rubber being fitted tomorrow :D

It's definitely right up on my list next time I move. I'd get so much more done if I didn't have to dodge the rain and cold.

TBH even a carport is better than an open driveway, being able to do stuff when it's raining and keeping the bikes dry. But a garage is 100x better. 2 must haves for a house for me - garage and good internet. Neither of these? Forget it!! :D

Got the speedo and neutral light working yesterday. Voltage was 19-20 volts across the battery. I had a spare reg/rec from the last lot of electrical issues so swapped it over and within a few mins all was well again!

Next on the list is try to get some silicone grease behind the seal on the front brake to free it up a little. I have a rebuild kit for the master cylinder, just waiting for a friend to be free to do it for me. I'm in no rush to work on brakes as since he knows what he's doing......

Just dropped the bike in for it's new tyre, completely forgot to mention that it's got a healthy dose of Slime sealant in it. Expecting to be chewed a new one when I pick it up :o

I use castrol chain cleaner and their lube. I found the WD40 motorbike lube flicked really badly and residue was a pain to clean off, I'm sure the cleaner works fine tbh.

Tbh I bet you could use GT85 to clean chain, WD40 probably not a great idea because it's said to dry out rubber. I'm not that convinced, but I'd rather use a product that doesn't keep it's recipe secret so I avoid it.

Yeah I'm finding the WD-40 chain lube rather flicky, even with a tiny coating my back wheel was dirty again after a few miles :(

I keep telling people, use Castrol Racing Lube :p

Never had a problem with rust and as long as you apply it to a warm chain, then leave it overnight, it doesn't flick.

Change the oil and filter on my Hornet yesterday. Tried to start it, but battery is dead (even after sitting on the Optimate for the last week). I guess I should have expected it, it sat unplugged and uncharged for over a year and is now 3-4 years old. New battery is coming soon, so can try again soon!

Then it gets new pads and seals on front brakes, new forks and exhaust. May as well use it again rather than it dying in the corner as I'll probably never sell it.
