What did you do to your bike today?

Ordered replacement magneto, generator parts, new chain, front and rear sprockets and a various tools so I can get the bike running again after not going near it since September.

Then I just need mot, tax, insurance.. hmm. maybe I'll just leave it in the garage as an ornament!

Damn, hard lines Tefal :(.

I didn't realise slipping off the side of one of those would create a big enough slip to continue on the level :(. Will certainly be thinking of this next time I'm out.

yeah i've caught the edges of them before but in the dry and it was just a little bump this time though, bye bye

unless you can find just the side panel and get the other repaired? you'll be looking at £150 per panel though, other bits are easy to get off fleabay

tht is a fair bit cheaper than the others but arnt the compression mold fairings meant to be crap for fitting?

thinking of getting that an just leaving the scuffs on the other fairings for now

so much for the crash bobbin, think i'll get metal ones next time :p

It's done exactly what a crash bobbin is supposed to do, wear down progressively whilst sliding smoothly across the road surface. A metal block would put way more stress into the mounting point, both from the drop itself and during sliding so it's more likely to cause frame/engine damage depending on what it's mounted on.

ive never used those fairings but they look decent,i would wait if you can and scour ebay for a panel, the other panels I would touch up myself with some paint from jawel, they will match it good and costs £17.50 a can

or a roll of carbon fibre vinyl?

to be fair it wore down progressively then snapped off shearing a big hole out of the fairing as it went :p

given howe easily the brake lever wore down i think an alluminium block would grind down an slide pretty well.

but you're right the only reall damage is to fairings, frame/engine is absolutly fine so can;t complain.

disassembled bike, an put old exhaust on it's all set up n ow so when spares arrive i can quickly fit them (will leave off the side fairings for now) and hopefully be good for the commute to work :p if a little ghetto looking

how much does it cost to get a tank sprayed?

kinda like the look of the matte grey design

would be cool to get but would only look right if the tank was painted :p

lol interestingly found a guy with the same tank as me so this is almost exactly what the bike would look like if i didn't get it painted :p

I really like that (even with the red tank), they are not Chinese fairings are they though? i've heard some horror stories about those!

Sorry to hear abut your off though matey.

Looks great, though I'd have to have the tank matching as - as eidolon says - my OCD part would know it's from the OTHER colour scheme :).

yeah the collour difference would annoy me hence wanting t know how much you think it would cost for a respray :p

also, would i have to remove the fuel pump etc from the tank you reckon?

yeah true^^

though I did grab my baglux off fleabay for £46

vinyl wrap is the best option imo,esp matte black

@Tefal I was quoted £150 per panel for my zx6 no idea on the tank but id guess more money

look on youtube, looks easy, never used it myself just take your time

leave the tank in place and do it,then trim off the excess
