What did you do to your bike today?

My Givi rack finally arrived, damn Italians taking their sweet time getting it to the UK, and it went on with no hassle at all.

I now no longer have to carry my helmet around the supermarket when popping to the shops.

Hah, nice one! Makes such a difference being able to use the 'boot' to leave the helmet :).

Photos of install please :). And maybe a cake. With a cherry on top.

SHE LIVES!!!!!

Topped up tank and tried firing her up. Took a while to crank over and catch and then died a few times so had to do a bit of juggling with the fast idle lever and eventually got her fired up and ticking over. Eventually settled down into a rather lumpy tickover and sort of cleared the throat a bit then settled down and sounded just like before I packed her away for her long term hibernation. Awesome. Forgot how loud and deep the Renegade cans were, think most of the dogs in the neighbourhood have started barking.

So happy I could cartwheel down the street.

Now to get a few other little things checked over, give her a good spring clean and then booked in for an MoT. :D

I really need to get mine properly set up, it's got the full Aprilia Racing Akro exhaust system and a Power Commander and the previous owner gave me some dyno plots. However, looking at the map in the PC it doesn't look very clever with some very large steps at low throttle openings that make me suspect it was mapped by a monkey. It's never been very happy at small throttle openings either.

I've not swapped chips in mine, still running the standard one albeit with the wire cut mod to open up the unrestricted map. I guess I really should grab a Dr Rossi, Gabro or Forza chip as I'm running an Evoluzione airkit and 60mm twin highmount Renegades with no baffles. That said I've never bothered because the power delivery is absolutely brutal with gobs of torque so its never bothered me. Having the TB's balanced up nicely should make a big difference as I've not had it done for ages.

Drilled out the knackered bolt after trying impact screwdriver and hammering in a torx bit.. neither worked, so it was in with the drill and screw extractors - which was kinda nervewracking. Anyhow, bolt came out just fine, so spent couple of hours on saturday and sunday soldering, fitting up, swearing, cutting, resoldering, fitting up, swearing again, fitting up, cut my finger, ... (I think you can see how this went!)

Anyhow, I now have a brand new generator sat inside my engine. Engine cover is back on, everything is refitted and torqued up. Just waiting on a replacement for the bolt that was drilled out to turn up, then I'll fill up with fresh oil and coolant and get it all tested.

After that, its time to do the chain and sprockets and get it MOT'd.

One day, I might even get to ride it!

Rode a fair way on the new bike. Love it.

Though I was perfectly at home with the old BMW indicator paddles each side! This "normal" thing on the left bar... my hands are too small to easily indicate left without moving my hand/grip about.

Rah!

That K1300 looks good enough to eat!. :)

Fitted a new Optimate flylead to the RSV today. Taking her for a quick spin tomorrow as a shakedown for not only the bike, but for me after she's been sat still for 14 months. And yes indeed, I'll certainly be taking it easy until I get my 'mojo' back. :D

Met Josh went for a ride out & it was superb out there, back in for a dog walk T & fodder & Straight back out.
