What did you do to your bike today?

I went for a ride, but it was one of those days, had a headache and my mind was really not in it. Came home after 30mins as I wan't even enjoying it.

Had another hour & a half & could stay out there all day & night if it weren't for my Frank staffy dog. :p

Forecast is sweet for the morrow as well.

Just did a 266 mile loop from home to Cheddar Gorge to Stonehenge then home again, avoiding motorways except when my sat nav decided to take me into Bristol even though I was meant to go on the ring road.

Great ride, brilliant weather, and some superb scenery. I also got 58.4 mpg on that trip which is the best I've had out of this bike yet. Close to the mythical 60 mpg talked about for the Versys.

RESULT!!!!. Dunno if it was a combination of the Redex injector cleaner and the fact it just needed a bit of a run and some revs to help it clear its throat but I went out for a short 5 mile loop this evening and once it had coughed and spluttered a bit it cleared its throat and went like a bomb!!. Chuffed isn't the word!!.

Got a bit of an issue with the ignition key/barrel now but I'll look into that this evening.

Me and Brackish have cleaned our bikes but then ridden them 600 miles this weekend with another 80+ tomorrow.

So for the future today it will be 'I have cleaned me bike'.

Today I mostly cleaned it big time. Polished, waxed. Then I put some of that 3M protection film on to the tank where zips etc. rub against it.

Easy in itself but getting that bit of the tank off took several other bits being removed too. Tedious.

A few days ago fitted new swing arm, worked out cheaper to by from a bike that had only done 9800 miles rather than send off blast re anodize and fit new bearing I bought the swingarm for the cost of new bearing and I now I have spare also no time off the road :)

Nearly ran out of petrol. :D

Out for a spin cruising about enjoying myself getting blown to ****, Looks down to see gauge on the red, Still got to get used to not having a reserve. :p

Give it a clean & will be polishing & waxing it shortly.

I took it for a quick spin down to the bike shop next to the H cafe, I was in need of a replacement horn for my old CBR900RRS. All sorted now, I've also checked it over for any intake/exhaust leaks as I'm going to do the carb balancing on it later. A bi-annual service item according to the book, but I have the gear, so prefer to do it annually out of personal preference.

Thankfully I've done all the major service work on the bike last year, only oil + filter is due mid July unless I clock up more than 1,500 miles in the next couple of months.

Yesterday I took the track bike to Snetterton...

Well, took it Sunday and camped over :)

nice ^^ :)

Today I need to:

Clean the bike
Adjust the chain
Fit some new bits
Clean leathers / Helmet
Check Tyre Pressures

All ready for 4 days around North Wales :D I leave tomorrow morning.... PLEASE be sunny!!

There's been a rattling noise coming from the bike, after thinking what on earth it could be turned out to be a simple chain adjustment (what I thought was normal slack was way too much).

Cleaned out the thickest muck from around the front sprocket, certainly will not be waiting too long to give that another clean.

Ordered a right angle pressure adapter - £3.99 of my quids from the forest of rain.

Had it serviced yesterday, was going to repaint the passenger foot peg panels but it was too windy so took the rear shocks off and cleaned those up. Will have to paint it over the weekend :)

My task for Sunday, really do need to get a new C&S kit

Filled my Scottoiler up & gave it a wipe over & a quick polish ready for a good ride out later once the Moto GP has finished.
