What did you do to your bike today?

TallPaul.

Hopfully diagnosed my cutting out issue.

"crack or get a hole in it" how old is the bike mileage e.t.c ?
2009 so nearly 8 years old. It's been sat over winter with less than a litre of fuel in it too so the hose might have dried out over those months. Just ticked over to 13,000 miles today.

It's this hose:

Which does this

Or the clamps come off at each end of the hose. A common fault looking through some forums.

I have the same issue with mine (the cutting out/surging/backfiring when warm) was hoping it was the throttle bodies needing balancing but now you have me wondering... I had a suspicion it was the pump but i know its a pain to fix so left it alone so far .. Will test it and look inside to see if im getting bubbles etc

Being larger than the average rider, I was advised to have my suspension checked out.

After reading around, I found these not too far away.

Ride home it was easy to feel the difference, especially under braking.(front didn't dive)

Looking forward to taking it out for a decent spin - then the heavens opened. :(

Fingers crossed for you, half the battle is working out what's wrong, especially when it's a problem that doesn't happen all the time.

I've just cleaned my rear wheel and the chain, adjusted it and lubed it with some of this:

Dry lubes fling less than wet lube but don't penetrate the chain as well, but wet lubes (WD-40 chain lube for instance) just end up covering the wheel in small black lube spots.

This stuff is meant to act like dry lube but penetrate like wet lube, it seems to go on really well and it's 100% transparent so my gold chain which is due to be delivered this week should stay looking nice :D

Let us know how you get on with it.

Chainsaw oil is still by far the best I've ever used on my bikes. I can't stand any of the spray can stuff in comparison.

This now means everything on the dash actually works! (apart from highbeam dash light, but who cares about that). Managed to buy another dash for £12 because it was scruffy cosmetically but all I wanted was the circuit board.

So good to have a speedo that works again :D
