What did you do to your bike today?

Used it to go and buy a car battery to bring the car back to life. Bungee'd the thing down like a mentalist, for fear of it flying off and killing some - other - idiot!

Also had a play before the weekend with the zx12 with full akro fitted holy mother of god what a difference

Technically not my bike but I've got a trackday booked at Silverstone tomorrow, can't afford to throw my own down the road so I decided to hire one. Really hope the rain stays away but looking at the forecast I might get a bit wet - will be fun either way!

Who did you hire from? I've been looking at www.smallboytrackbikes.co.uk as they seem to be decent

got back from 4 days and 1,400 miles at the 'Ring and around Europe. Epic, epic trip it was. Managed to shave about 20secs from last years time. Best lap was around 8:45, but still learning the lines... it takes years.

A few vids if anyone is interested.

I did it through focused events and they use their own hire bikes

Had a good day in the end, first session was just about dry, 2nd & 3rd were very wet and they didn't change us over to rain tyres so it was slippery to the point where I was wheel spinning in a straight line. Luckily the sun came out at lunch time and we got 2 good dry sessions in the afternoon where I got to push it a bit. My dad stood at the side of the track and timed a few laps and said I did a 2:40 which I didn't think was too bad for my second track day and only a small amount of dry time on Silverstone, the superstock 600's lap at around 2:13-2:20

Nice. I was at Donington Park myself yesterday. We had 5 dry sessions, then session 6 was wet which made it rather interesting. Called it a day before session 7, which actually looked pretty dry again.

Donington's a great track though, I'd recommend it.

I did Silverstone a month or so back, I think the best I could manage was 3:11 :( Even the safety car in F1 goes quicker than that! :)

Was a decision between Snetterton, Donington and Silverstone but we chose the latter because it fit better in our schedule and we watched the WSBK there last year. Would love to try Donington though, I watched the GP there in 08 and craner curves look like a lot of fun! Itching for my next track day already :D

There was a BMW event on the same day, damn those HP4's and S1000RR's flew down the straight at some pace

What kit did you use to make those videos? I really like the speedo and stuff on screen.

Replaced front drum brakes and front brake cable, had the top-end off for a de-coke, topped up oil and fuel, put it all back together, gave every nut and bolt a tweak and a torque...and then went for a scoot :)

**** it's hot out there!

Just had some new boots fitted for Donnington on the 12th. Got another set of Pirelli Rosso IIs , but this time I got the rea in a 55 profile rather then the 50. Jacks the back up 5mm for quicker steering

Service and a new rear tyre this morning.

I knew my rear was very close and I wanted to get a meet up in the Peak District out of the way before changing it. Yesterday was the meet and with the amount of rain we had there, I have never been wetter in my life (my waterproofs really tried their hardest bless them), every time I went round a right hand bend, or roundabout, the back wheel would twitch. Bloody scary :D

Even though the new tyre still needs scrubbing in, it feels 1000x better than yesterday.
