What did you do to your bike today?

Yeah, fancied a gps laptimer and it does that plus a few other cool features so might go for it. Its plug and play too so big ++ factor cause I CBA wiring something in

striped my forks down to change the oil and the springs
for some hyperpro springs only to find they sent me the wrong ones :(
got to wait till next week now for them to send the right ones out

Just fitted an Oberon clutch slave to the RSV. It's slightly improved the heaviness at the lever, though not as much as I'd hoped.

Also fitted new indicator lens after a slight incident earlier this week. Top tip: When you have a tall tail pack, make sure you don't catch your leg behind it when getting off to wheel your bike into a space.

Fortunately I managed to put it down pretty gently and the crash bungs left the fairings and exhaust completely unmarked. I did snap the clutch lever though, and had to make a hasty repair as I was on the way to Donnington for the RH race school. Not sure whether to just get an OEM one or to get a nice pair of Titax style levers.

Behold the power of 15mm copper pipe and self tapping screws!

Changed the oil, coolant, brake fluid and pads. Just waiting for the new spark plugs to arrive. Think the chain is due for replacing. Been on around 3-4 years now.

They are certainly very cheap, not much more than a pattern clutch lever and way less than an OEM lever. I'm always a bit suspect of cheap Chinese stuff though, seen some reports about the anodising fading very quickly on some of these levers?

The previous owner of my zx12 fitted a set very similar and personally I think they are **** faded and feel like what they cost.

But maybe ShakenNstirred has strike lucky but mine will be changed.

Especially one handed... :p

Why are you drilling it? sharkfin?

I have 2 hands again! Got my cast off last week :-)

Yep drilling and tapping new threads for a sharkfin. Using the same GB racing one from the crash as it survived well despite ripping a hole in the swingarm lol.

Hopefully have the bike ready for next monday for a test day... eek. Still waiting on rearsets, brake lines, all my bodywork and a service.

If all goes well then race on 21st :)

New chain and sprockets fitted, also brakes re-bled and now much better. Bike is so much quieter now the chain has been done, when I last used it there were so many groans and creaks as it was wheeled around it was frightening.
Off to work on it tomorrow morning at 5am.

Yeah, hit diesel coming off a roundabout about midnight last night... A shower of sparks is a bit of an understatement!

Crash bars took the majority of the damage, the rest was taken up by the exhaust can and top box. Without the top box I may have lost the tail end.

Jacket is fubar'd, elbow took a scraping. My shoulder is bruised and aching to hell, as is my knee, but I count myself lucky that all the gear did as it was supposed to!
