What did you do to your bike today?

Properly upset. It isn't even worth much but my god did it always put a smile on my face. Hadn't used it in a few months but was getting ready to get it road worthy again as I had not long changed the oils on it and ordered a new chain and sprocket.

No idea when I'll be able to afford another one now.

Oh mate that sucks. What was it? Have you informed local police? Usually stolen bikes get left somewhere very close nearby and watched for a few days in case there are trackers installed.

A 2006 Yamaha R6. I think they must've loaded it onto a van as it's quite loud and would've heard it being started up. Both wheels had a lock on as well.

Informed the police and have asked all neighbours with a doorbell camera if they've seen anything

Just a bit gutted with no idea what to do now really

If you've got a neighborhood watch facebook group or similar, post there. Also, and it sounds dumb, have a walk/cycle around the neighborhood. I've had this happen twice- both times the bikes were parked in the street within half a mile of where they were stolen- the thieves don't want to risk being caught red handed with a tracked bike, so they usually don't go too far.

Good luck, you never know!

Had it stolen! And guess which bike wasn't insured for the total of 2 months before being robbed.... this guys.
Gutted for you fella! Is that scummy group of lads still operating in Bristol these days? I recall seeing a fair bit about them some years back - I recall finding [and saving] a PDF someone had put together with a bunch of their IDs in - but iirc the Police did nothing with the info the person had gathered.

Hope it gets found and isn't too buggered, the '06 R6 is still a corker imo

Looked into doing repairs after yesterdays ride, a front indicator got taken about by a stone. Hellva crack made me jump at the time heh.
Then found one of the rear indicators no longer working, tried to remove it but the bolt just spins in place. Tried the other one and the bolt also spins in place. Bugger. Front ones remove fine though so theres that.
Any ideas on how to remove bolts that are just spinning? Looking over the parts diagram (765R Street Triple btw) there isnt a nut behind it, plus i cant seperate the two halfs of the tail without removing those screws first.

Otherwise on a more positive note I gave it a good clean, lube and some anti-rust on all the important bits.

Heard today that BMW are making it as difficult as possi le to get mine fixed, some parts they have 'discontinued' (for a 2019 bike), they will only sell primed panels unpainted with no decals; and in the words of the garage, are making a simple job 100 times harder!

After my garage's advice, it'll be transferred to BMW Motorrad this week - let the games continue I guess!

On the other hand, I fell from the loft Wednesday morning, snapping my left tib and fib, and also aggravating a fracture in my T6, which may have happened during the crash on the 10th!

I now have a metal rod in the tib, a massive shoe on that, and got the all clear today that the fracture is 'stable' - but I will be in a chest brace for 6-8 weeks, so I will certain rest this time; as I didn't take time off work for the recent bike crash.

@Logsi tell me about it mate, still on the Trauma ward, getting more mobile, but can't put weight through the leg yet; though the rod should mean weight bearing sooner than plates and pins.

Turns out they found a few back fractures in the end, old ones - so guess my Knox full back protector didn't do so well back in 2008

Current back injury pain comes and goes, but I'm so thankful it's stable at present and no operation is needed - just need a bit more time, but they're eyeing my bed for the next patient!

Oh well, things could have been much worse I guess.

Thanks mate - the season is deffo over early for me, as it was my shift leg :(

Oh and BMW's overseeing company rejected my repairs, so I had to fight LV bit and call on an old friend who's the Motorrad manager in Bristol, so now it's all set to go in on Friday - no rush on the work as I can't ride lol

Christ, that must hurt! Hope you mend up quickly dude!
Honestly didn't feel it at the time, or even when I straightened it out to move it from under the ladder, but the wait for the ambulance... any crunch then was deffo felt!

Just hoping they can get my pain cocktail sorted for the back, as I'm being ushered out ASAP - the Wife (being in team NHS) was at least able to negotiate Saturday; giving time to sort living arrangements out
