What do today's kids / teens make of Blur and Oasis?

I didn't know anyone who listened to oasis back in the day tbh...

Reggae , ragga , DNB, jungle, House, techno etc were all big in the 90s.

Mainstream definitely isn't where the hip people were...

bigger than oasis I'd say.. seems like the radio stations made oasis big, not the people, even the BBC were doing drum n bass on the radio at one point

A local park is hosting a "naughty 90s" weekend and the amount of crap they play is insane... sounded like barry mannilow and wet wet wet yesterday..

On friday I heard a bit of jungle though I definitely heard
That has to be the most boring piece of ‘music’ I’ve ever had the displeasure to hear

It's pure nostalgia, everyone knows Liam's voice is rubbish now, but the gigs will probably still be epic.

There's still plenty of time for them to fall out again when they start doing all the pre-tour stuff  With the amount of money on offer though, I doubt either of them will slide away.

If they do come back, tickets for their first gig will go for record prices, and tbh, someone like Sky could probably put it PPV. Taylor Swift wouldn’t have **** on the Oasis fanfare

This is delusion, and I say this as an Oasis fan who will be trying to get tickets on Saturday.

Oasis weren't ever big in the USA for a start, Taylor Swifts tour is on course for 2 billion dollars.

Personally I never liked Oasis and they never had the global reach of other bands. But still very successful internationally. But I will say they have a distinctive sound, and have a massive cultural and musical influence on their audience. Musically even if I didn't like them, they have great songs and music. Blur perhaps less influencial but I preferred them.

Speaking as BOTH Oasis and TS fan...Oasis's popularity won't scratch the current TS fan base or draw.

TS Eras tour is the biggest ever in so many ways. I don't think Oasis have the fan base to sustain the same level of support for 2 years of world tour, sell out every show in every country.

TS is currently at her peak, Oasis's days are way behind them and whilst I adore their music (earlier stuff mostly), in terms of support, it is not as far-reaching as TS. Not even close. Dare I say it, the majority of Oasis fans are English speaking, UK base, men in their late 30's to 50's. A TS gig has anyone from 5 to 50+ all over the world, she would sell out a show in Singapore and Rio, as well as LA or Poland or Tokyo.

They are not comparable.

Many people just want to go to these events because other people are going.

I dont think it matters what teens today think of them, they will sell the tickets easy and a mix of all ages will turn up.

They did arenas in USA didn't they? Thats not bad going.

Morning Glory was largely successful in the United States as well, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and was certified 4× Platinum.
