What film did you watch last night?

Kajaki (otherwise known as Kilo Two Bravo) - On Netflix

Jesus christ this film is going to give me nightmares. It's graphic and terrifying in a way that a horror film can't be.

8/10 (not because there's anything wrong with the film but because I'll need counselling)

Ant man...knows what it is ...

Solid and enjoyable

7/10

Watched it myself last night. An enjoyable movie.

Also watched Ghost in the Shell, the New Movie. Always liked these films, but the subtitles on this were poor, making t confusing to follow the story. 6/10

Meru. Another mountaineering movie, similar to Everest but focusing on a lesser known Himalayan peak which presents a more technically difficult climb. The difference in budget is clearly visible (smaller mountains, slimmer ropes, etc.) but the story is a good one.

Filmed by Jimmy 'Chinny Chin' Chin, the first openly gay Chinese-American mountaineer. Stars Renan Ozturk as Renan Ozturk.

8/10.

The Martian - 6.5/10 and I think that's being generous. Too many cheesy one-liners for it to be a serious film and too many overly dramatic scenes for me.

Kapringen. Gritty Danish maritime drama from controversial director Tobias Lindholm. Filmed on a shoestring budget of just $2.8 million and shot on location in the Indian Ocean because of the Muslims.

7.5/10.

Spectre

The first 15 minutes were fantastic but it all just went down the uninspiring slope until it landed into what is ultimately an over acted film that tries too hard.

Everyone has been raving about great action scenes but poor story so didn't expect a lot but I actually found the action lacking and rather bland apart from the beginning. Car chases were a little uninspiring and one totally ludicrous. Story felt patchy at best and disjointed, little disappointed with Christoph Waltz and Monica Bellucci who was a mere distraction and over acted.

Certainly worked on their details in this film with the sets and cars along with usual sharp fashion but I would dare say this may just be worse than Quantum of Solace which isn't an easy thing to say.

6/10

Stranded. Christian H. Slater phones in a pedestrian performance for this budget paint-by-numbers sci-fi flick with some of the worst production values I've seen in a very long time.

2/10.

I'm normal a fan of the low budget sci fi films but even so i only lasted 30m before removing the disk and throwing it in the bin.

Wrecker - 3/10

Blatant rip off of the great movie "Duel" which sees two birds in a Ford Mustang GT 5.0 up against an old tow truck.

Oh well it passed an hour or so..

It was a mediocre Bond film imo. The story was all over the place and there was hardly any consistency to any of the film.

I thought the first 15 minutes were very good as well and then it all went down hill from there and turned out to be a pretty flat Bond film.

The biggest problem I have with the film though is Daniel Craig is not a good bond. He does the action stuff very well but he has no charm or charisma like the other Bonds had and is just way too serious all the time.

I would give it a 5/10 really let down by this one for all the hype that surrounded it.
