What film did you watch last night?

Amy. Good insight into the life of Amy Winehouse, didn't seem to take sides but showed footage that certainly made you feel some could have done more and others really let her down. Sad tail 7/10.

The Boy. Slow burning art house 'coming of age' film about a feisty 9 year old boy and his innocent exploits at the motel owned by his divorced father.

8/10.

Tremors 5 :Bloodlines. 7/10

Big tremors fan so potentially biased, but I actually enjoyed the latest addition.
Different director which is very noticeable, lacks the magic of the older films but yet I am finding myself watching it again and again.

Watched the new Poltergeist movie/remake  what a load of ****. Its a disgrace to the original.
Also watched insidious 3 which was fairly good. Had a few jumpy moments in there.

Everest

6/10

I've read detailed accounts of that storm and seen documentaries. I think the fact that I already knew the story so well prevented me from really engaging with the characters as they were portrayed in this film.

Absolutely Anything

Wasn't sure about it at first, trailer made it seem to be a kids orientated film with Simon Pegg, but turned out to be a bit better (switch off brain and enjoy) with some genuinely funny moments. nice main cast too. Kate Beckinsale is 24/7 <3

Absolutely Anything

Scored a 6 on IMDB. However after watching it I'd rate it higher. Decent film with some funny moments. Ooh, and Kate Beckinsale too ! :)

John Wick - brainless fun and 7.5/10, the humour is good too. Welcome back to the Continental Mr Wick.

Gone Girl - wasn't expecting much on this one.. 9/10. I guess the plot immediately but the realisation and presentation was great entertainment to see how it unfolds. Well worth watching (not a simple chick flick).

Dead rising, how has this got such a good rating on amazon, it feels like a b-movie but thinks it's a hit. IMDB compares much more favourably at a 5/10 I think it's only worth a 4/10.

I watched "Inside Out", which like most of the Pixar films I ended up really enjoying.

Probably 7 or 8 out of 10.

I want to watch that when I get the chance :)

I picked up the Swedish/Finnish/German? Tremors Legacy set about 10 years ago and they've been watched many times :) (as has the TV series).

Was going to have a go, until I re-read, thought you put Deep Rising, which is also b-movie-ish but excellent :D

Dead rising, I agree is poo :(

Creed 8/10

Ok my score might be inflated on the basis that I do love the Rocky movies. I generally thought the acting in this movie from Stallone and Jordan was great!. The cinematography on the boxing matches was also top notch IMO.

Worth a watch.....the missus didn't like it though.

Yup. I gave it a 4/10 a few pages back as well. I thought it was passable for the first two thirds, but terrible in the final act.

Bridge of Spies - 9/10

It's one of the best movies I've seen all year. I can see how some might find it too slow paced and possibly boring, but I loved it. It's one of Spielberg's better films and Tom Hanks is superb in the lead role. I could tell that the script was co-written by the Coen brothers as well, it had some great dialogue and unexpected humour.

Dead Poets Society. Good film, not seen it in years. It pretty much flew by. Funny seeing Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard so young. Good ending. RIP Robin Williams.
