What film did you watch last night?

American Sniper - 5/10

Ponderously slow, disjointed, and at times goes out of its way to insult the audience.

Case in point: in one life-and-death firefight, the titular sniper downs tools and makes a phone call to his wife in the US. "I'm coming home," he says, with enemy fighters closing in from all directions.

>>Just how brain-dead do they think their audience is??!!<<

I felt bad when at the end you learn the film is (loosely) based on a real soldier. He probably deserved better than this. How it was nominated for an Oscar is anyone's guess.

Hanna. European action thriller with more ambition than talent, and an awkward music score by Eric Unterflaat that adds nothing to the ambience.

Hanna is a 16 year old genetically modified clone with expert martial arts skills, the strength of a Kenyan mountain gorilla, the stamina of a camel, and a supernatural ability to increase her body mass until it is equal to that of a fully grown man. She can kill adults with her bare hands, and regularly tosses them around like rag dolls. And that's pretty much the entire plot.

Stars Saoirse Ronan, Eric Banana, and Cate Blanket.

6/10.

Star Wars - The Force Awakens 9/10. It may not be perfect but wow did they get it right... Star Wars is back. ;)

This is how the first 3 prequels should have been like. Really good performances from Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. They did a excellent job casting.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - from the opening trawl to the end titles this had me. I was taken back to 1983 watching Jedi in the cinema, so nostalgia heavy. I was with my sons, one of which is the same age I was in 1983 and the look on his face was identical to mine. We were happy as could be. The film may not be perfect but it still gets 5/5

Not perfect but you still 5/5 ?

Does not compute ... Drunk by nostalgia perhaps ?

Take a minute and man up

Why do you need ask, in such a pedantic manner. It's obvious you didn't enjoy the film. Probably for some reason, like directing style, plot holes or whatever else.

Does that mean others aren't allowed to enjoy it? I'm giving it 11.5/7.
