American Sniper - 5/10
Ponderously slow, disjointed, and at times goes out of its way to insult the audience.
Case in point: in one life-and-death firefight, the titular sniper downs tools and makes a phone call to his wife in the US. "I'm coming home," he says, with enemy fighters closing in from all directions.
>>Just how brain-dead do they think their audience is??!!<<
I felt bad when at the end you learn the film is (loosely) based on a real soldier. He probably deserved better than this. How it was nominated for an Oscar is anyone's guess.
