What film did you watch last night?

GI Joe, okay okay, It's not a good film. It has some nice effects, but it's a cheese fest.

I however, loved it :D I've seen it a few times and it is bloody awful, but fantastic fun :D

Survival of the Dead & Paintball.

Survival of the Dead was not too bad, made me jump a couple of times - 5/10

Paintball is very bad, if your going to make a film about Paintball at least use the proper gear, learn about the game and have characters that you care about ! - 1/10

Just finished watching The Taking of Pelham 123

I dont get why it got such poor reviews, I thought it was quite good. Maybe not as good as Inside Man (another Denzel film) but still a good watch

And to finish my night off, I have just finished watching the original gone in 60seconds.

It's so much better than the original! And I don't think I have seen so many cars destroyed in one film.

I give it a strong 9/10

Dead Poets Society - Seize the day and watch the marvellous film. Twenty years on this film will disappoint you.

Watched Calendar Girls, surprisingly moving story but not the best film. It is time for Helen Mirren to stop getting 'em out. 3/5

An Education. I was impressed with Molina's performance and of course by the lead. She certainly deserved her oscar nomination. Didn't massively warm to the story if I'm honest, although I did enjoy it.

And that is why you shouldn't get into cars with strange men!

Green Zone

It was ok, it was pleasant to see matt damon be in an action type film and not be hard as nails to be honest.

The story and acting were fine, the only annoying thing was the ridiculous overuse of SHAKYCAM.

They even used it when the cameraman was stood still for gods sake, it got to the point where i was watching the film and trying to hunt out the bits where the camera was stationary...there was not many!

6.5/10

Would have been a solid 8.5/10 if not for the camera work.

Interview with the Vampire

Surprisingly entertaining for a vampire film. A bit different from the usual hack-and-slash or romance approaches. Lost its way a little in the last 30 minutes, however.

7/10

Its the same retarded director as the Bourne films isn't it? I hate shakey cam with a passion, it ruined Quantum Of Solace and Transformers 2 aswell. They're to lazy to properly choreograph a fast paced intricate fight scene, so they just film fists and layer swooshing noises over the top and cut it so fast you've no idea whats happened. Hate it hate it hate it.
Michael Mann seems to love making his films shakey and crap aswell, on top of that uses some funky Digital cameras and a weird colour pallete that lets you marvel at the poorly applied make up on the actors.

The Burly Brawl is still the benchmark for a man on man fight sequence imo, in a major Hollywood production anyway.

Its ok right up until the very end.
How many million did travolta get away with? and he just gave up just like that

The Burly Brawl really isn't that much of a benchmark. You can clearly see the CGI joins and its too long.

The Train station fight from the first film though is still stunning. I wouldn't say Michael Mann's camera work is particularly obtuse either, Collateral and Miami Vice are perfectly watchable from a visual standpoint.

kind of agree to a certain extent.

I thought the Bourne films were superb, yes the camera work was getting annoying in the third but not to the levels that the green zone have.

As for man on man fight scenes, the burly brawl fight scenes are stand out, but i think the bourne scenes edge it still, and this might be controversial but i was in absolute awe of the fight scenes in sherlock holmes, they felt perfect to me.
