Watched Game Night last night as I saw it pop up on Netflix, some very silly yet laughable moments. 6/10

A little weaker in one or two areas compared to some others I've recently seen ('Shock', for example, was excellent), but still enjoyable nonetheless.
Regardless, as always, Price is an enthralling watch as ever in this.

Man of Honour
Watched this last night. The premise was interesting, but ultimately it didn't really go anywhere. It also suffered from assuming you know a lot of each person's back story already. Jim Brown seemed the most interesting of the bunch, at least as he was portrayed in this.
Probably worked better as the play it was adapted from.

Invasion Planet Earth
OMG ! I started watching this British made sci-fi movie and had to switch it off about 20 minutes in. The acting and effects were a bit rubbish but I thought I would persevere just in case the plot and script saved it. It did not. 2/10

Bill & Ted Face the Music
Sequel to the 1980's Bill & Ted movie franchise. Strange watching a grown up Bill & Ted still talking and acting like they are high as a kite !
It kind of worked when they were teens but not so much now. This time we also have their younger doubles in their equally half witted daughters.
Light hearted nostalgic entertainment where you switch your brain off and just vegetate - 5/10

Heist movie set during the current pandemic. Was bored to tears, story is uninspiring and ridiculous

Set in the future about an android officer. Just no, absolute trash, corny story with acting to match. Was torturous to watch, switched it off after 30 mins.

I didn't mind "Outside the wire" but I constantly found myself being pulled out of the film thinking they'd filmed it in the cheapest locations possible. Warehouses, silos, something that looked like a university campus, etc. Really distracting.
There was also the vault scene. WTF were those people doing at work, in their best business clothes, during a civil war with armed men known to be in the immediate area. Truly an incident created purely for the plot. And, as my wife pointed out, the "hero" just managed to get everyone killed if they listened to him.

It's a decent watch, bit of a drag at some places but not much. Only giving it 6 because the Sci-fi concept didn't seem to add up (i.e. designer drug with bizarre effects). Overall good enough to get an evening by.

LOL yeah I turned it off at that point - too much of the movie by that point was a case of "wouldn't this be cool" rather than a developed script.
I don't know why I even keep my Netflix subscription active any more.
Les Miserables, a very good bad cop/good cop French movie. Almost a little like training day in a way. But supposedly it had real world political implications, that helped improve the area due to how accurate the movie is on the current living conditions. 8/10.
Any suggestions for more French movies? I don't think I've seen a bad one, but then not really set out to watch any bad ones

Kept me entertained while doing other things, but nothing remarkable at all.
My friend said there was a big twist about halfway through, wasn't really sure what this was tbh!

Behind the Candelabra
What a great film, Messrs Douglas and Damon on top form. I remember seeing Liberace on tv when i was a kid, it captures the glitzy madness really well.

I absolutely adore the theme to Drive...Nightcall by Kavinsky. Its a superb tune to drive to at night. I remember seeing a comment on the tune which was so fitting "I love how this song sounds like it was made in 1980 and 2080 at the same time."

So as I'm working my way through the clone wars TV series I've decided to plow through the old prequel movies to remind me of how they actually went, as I've not seen them in a couple decades...
First up, The Phantom Menace...
I know people liked to bang on about it when they came out, but Jar Jar really is annoying, I think their technology is cool, but I'd rather the movie been without him and his people's way of talking.
The acting seemed to vary wildly, some of the lesser cast - people like Anakin's mother were terrible and couldn't deliver lines in a believable fashion at all. Even Natalie Portman seemed to bounce around a bit, but I think it's maybe actually Kiera Knightly being terrible and I forgot about their switcharoo at times. Ewan Mcgregor looks way younger than I remembered him to be but I enjoyed. I'd entirely forgotten Liam Neeson was in it. Child Anakin was predictably annoying, but I guess that's what you'd expect from a kid. Palpatine definitely is the highlight... I spotted Warwick Davis in it at one point, which I thought was interesting that he's just there in the background.
Darth Maul is probably one of the better bits, a bit of a shame how he's removed as quickly as he's introduced I'd not have minded if there'd been more exposition around him.

Overall I think it was probably better than the more modern films, but not as good as the originals, naturally.
